Carl Cox is also a really great dj

I know im gonna get flamed for this but honestly i think Oakenfold s the best dj ever. The reason i say ever is because now hes not the best, but as said earlier you cannot question what he did for trance music and its scene. Digweed and Sasha while technically better really didnt reach the dark corners of the world as Oakenfold. He pulled me into trance, hell hes even made it mainstream in some parts of America. Also no dj in the world will have a better stretch of djing than Oakenfold during the EM WORLD TOUR. Not Armin with ASOT, which BTW can become complacent at times, but no one not PvD with Fritz radio, and theres not a damn TA alive that will disagree.(with the part about the EM World tour, i mean not my opinion as there are surely goin to be disagreements with that.)

Be Cool!

Well it depends on what u LIKE in a dj, and your only talking about djing right? no productions to be considered ? I think oakey takes the cake in the trance genre i dont know about other types of music tho.

Tiesto of course

Tough as heck to decide....hmmmmmmm....most technically sound dj is danny tenaglia...

Best Ever

1(Tie) Paul Oakenfold (owned 1999) and Sasha and Digweed

the old prog trance nick warren was great.

pvd or ferry

Wait a minute. This thread says the best dj EVER. Not at the moment.
What about Dj's like fracis grasso, who was the dj who pioneered beatmatching, back in 1969. Dj's back then had to work a dam site harder than dj's now, and lets face it they have done a lot more for music than 600 dj tiestos ever could.

Ok guy... what about the caveman that clubbed a rock
and made the first beat? surely he too was a pioneer...

seriously, it's gotta be oakie because of all of his contributions...

Posted by keke on Feb-23-2003 10:00:

Sasha !!!!

Posted by djrichy on Feb-23-2003 10:26:

Chris Moyles. Comedy Dave. The Mystic Horse.

In fact: John Digweed and Sasha are the gods .. So they get my vote .. (they to can be both becouse they are like one )

Posted by Christopher B on Feb-23-2003 13:38:

Sasha and Digweed.

Posted by Rising on Feb-23-2003 13:44:

erm..

ever? hard one...
Warren, Armin , Lemon8 , Tiesto.

jean?

Posted by T_2199 on Feb-23-2003 14:38:

No one can scratch like Westbam !!
No one has such a good track selection like Talla (mixing sux!)
and no one can mix trance like Paul van Dyk can

a mix of those 3 djs would be the perfect dj!

but i think
Paul is the best DJ!!

Posted by Mister_Michel on Feb-23-2003 15:05:

I'd go for Oakenfold

You always say molyes - d'oh!

On one of the rare occasions i tuned in he was attempting to mix two tracks together just with a fader - i really thnink he must've thought it was that easy - lol

And best dj ever (not just for technical skill but for what they done for trance.

Armin or Ferry. flame ahead if you wish

Posted by solidi on Feb-23-2003 15:55:

armin

richie hawtin has to be one of the best. i haven't seen any other deejay do the shit he does when mixing. it is like he is making new tracks when he mixes.

sven vaeth i think is pretty good too due to his effortless style. one time when he was playing in vancouver, he was smoking and drinking the entire time ... just enjoying himself. it was like he was there first to party and deejaying was just a diversion.
