Ritchie hawtin is by far the most creative Dj in the world! He was the first to bring up Final Scratch, and he uses that many FX he has to control some with a foot pedal!

Production wise. There is far too many different styles, but Sasha IMO has made the most "perfect tune" in the world with Xpander. By far the best tune ever made..

Airwave is very consistent with his creativity for trance. IMO he's one of the few, if not the only, who manages to produce quality track after quality track. And his productions are quite diverse most of the time, because of his different aliases. This in contrast with e.g. Ferry Corsten, who gets repetitive (except for Punk).

I also love the productions in which Dave Dresden is involved. Whether it is Gabriel & Dresden, Attention Defecit or with Pablo la Rosa (Groove Armada - Superstylin (Pablo La Rosa & Dave Dresden's Mansfield Mix). It's always quality and he always manages to let it sound different but with a characteristic sound to it. Definitely my favourite (solo) producer at the moment

I cannot settle on one , so i give you five:

1. L-Vee(aka Lolo, Airwave, 1/2 Fire & Ice, etc)
2. Hybrid
3. MIKE(aka Push, Solar Factor, Plastic Boy, etc)
4. Simon Posford(Shpongle, Hallucinogen)
5. Chicane(aka Disco Citizens)

L-Vee is simply the most quality producer of all time, imho. Hybrid has made the most amazing remixes, they are aural bliss. MIKE adds energy to trance like no other producer. Simon Posford might be the most brilliant electronic musician on this earth. And Chicane, is just, legendary.

i think that its too hard to comment on the past, but i will say that Gabriel & Dresden have a very original sound and i think that we will all being hearing a lot more from them (and the rest of america ) in the future to come.

I think that Astral Projection has a rather creative edge. When I heard the song from them called "Let There Be Light", it blew me away. But, I agree with DumondeTrancer, it's IMPOSSIBLE to name the best producer ever.

Well I say Tiesto has some of the best remixes. Bt isnt a dj realy because he doesnt do that very well but of course his remixes and productions are the shit. Hybrid is great man theyre productions are top notch and theyre ok djs. Marco V has great productions and his sets are great. I mean its hard to say PvD is the most creatvie, but he does have great remixes.
