Primus is good, sorry to hear about that.

Hey listen trance_n_dance, they can just card the credit card it's against the law if it doesn't have your approval.

My friend had the same kind of incident with Primus(mudafkers).

They claimed they sent my friend a Laptop Network Card and charged him $100 on visa for the NIC But he doesn't even have a laptop so he called Primus spoke to them obviously they were saying that we sent you a NIC card even tho they didn't.
He even tried to be reasonble by saying to at least send him the NIC card but they wouldnt. They wouldn't even show him proof of him purchasing or when he ordered it.
So he called VISA and told VISA that they charged his VISA for something that he never Purchased and they have no proof of purchase. They return his money and VISA stated if something like
this happens again they will take away their "contract" with Primus.

He obviously cancled and switched his provider and they want their modem back, well guess what

It's not really the same situation but try to follow up, otherwise youll be down a lot of money.

Exactly.... if your DSL provider doesn't give you a break, VISA will for sure! The beauty of having a credit card (the only one I can actually think of) - having your purchases protected.

...and I believe they did inform their customers. Are you with Bell? Since they don't send you a monthly invoice (like Rogers Cable does, for example.) they probably informed you via your online invoice - which, if you're like me, you dont check, then it's no wonder you're surprised.

No I'm with Access Vantage and I allready said they never sent me an e-mail but they claimed that they did. They say the e-mail was titled something like download limits soon or some crap like that but I never received it, all I get is billing information e-mails .

I had rogers, they banned me cuz i was running an FTP, i told them to go fuck them self.
Sympatico intruduced the bandiwth limit at 5GB down & 5GB Up! so i told them 2 to go fuck them selfs.

I got tht.net now. its ADSL at no bandwiths and way less rules

Isn't it funny how they advertise high speed as an awesome line to download with, then charge you for using their connection to your advantage.

I know what you mean though, my dad pays for the sympatico and got an 80$ fine....he was pissed... needless to say we r now on rogers

Can someone please answer me something. When I look at these services, alot of them say...1200/120 or 3000/800. I think thats the download upload speed. I wouldnt actually download at 3 megs per second would I? If i download at 100k per second average on rogers.. what kinds of speed would I expect from these smaller independant services?

from 1-1.5 mbit services, about the same.. prolly even less. (i.e around 50-75kbps)
