MY GOD, simply amazing, met quite a few TA's last night but can't remember most names etc lol. Had a great time up front and even got in a picture
All the tracks I recognized have already been posted, what a kickass set. Only bad part were all the fucking 40 year old asian parents there. They were seriously some of the most fucked up people besides the messed up 16 year olds. Not to mention seeing an old asian couple dryhumping by the bar in a dark corner. Yuck.
great party
Hey,
So I got to Viva last night at around 12.30 or so and the place was already quite full. Seems like Johan has a great draw in T.O. now. I think Hartec was great, maybe a bit hard for my taste, but great nonetheless. I think Johan was abosultely amazing!! His track selection was just awesome!! I met Johan for a quick second and seems to be a really nice guy. It's nice to meet the DJ's that actually care about thier fans. I wanted to extend huge thanks to Itikia and Swamper for their great hospitality. They are truly great guys and it's been a pleasure to meet them in the past few weeks. I wish them both success in all their endeavours and know that they have what it takes to bring the great DJ's and parties to Toronto. Thanks again guys, see you tonight at KH.
Cheers
why do people constantly bitch and moan about people doing drugs. if they want to: LET THEM! as long as they aren't picking fights or causing trouble, then who cares! it sure beats the hell out of being in a place with a bunch of 300 lb ginos who are only there to pick fights. i

i hope that "you" was general.
Things I loved about last night:
1. Mark Oliver! Have never heard him play such a hard trance set! Thanks to him I'm not sure if my legs will be ready for ultra spin tonight.
2. Tranceaddicts rule! Bottom line... Best group to party with evar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. The way Gielen works the crowd. He's enjoying himself up there and the actually respond at viva. Lots of hands in the air last night!
4. Johan's set. Although missed lots of it (see below). The set was pure quality. Not just so called "cheesy" trance but some real stompers with hard basslines and yes, tech-trance!
5. Hartec. Better to hear hard beats at the end of the night but hearing them at the start sure gets me going. Moved nicely into trance to open for Johan.
6. MC JD. Jungle and trance never worked so well.
Things that were bad last night:
1. Missing half of Gielen. Lets just say that too much booze sucks! Had to sweat it out for a good hour. Got kicked out of my seat for what looked like some Triad meeting that was gonna start.
2. Too Crowded! First time I've seen it that packed. At least most people are polite and they stay still. Unlike the guv that a huge mass of people seem to have the need to roam aimlessly around the club.
3. Too Loud! The volume was cranked last night made my ears bleed. They need to tone it down a decibel or two.
Shouts to absolutely every one. A night at Viva is always a great time!

..
what was the name of the last song that gielen played?
not his new single..but the last song in the set?
anyone know
the one with like
phase 1..phase 2 (lyrics)
A really great night, it's true that this time Johan was much better than his first time at Viva, (I am not saying he was bad back then, he was really good) but this time he was just perfect. I'd say better than AVB (or maybe I am just tired of him, who knows), a really great night. Thanx to Orzone for giving me those earplugs, they really make life easier
At the end I accidently broke my glowstick and was covered in that shit all over, that kinda sucked, walking around and glowing, grrr, and I heard it's not too healthy too. Btw I was the guy with the Blue glowlight necklase that said guvernment on it, anyone remember me?
conclusion: The best party of 2003 so far, I am gonna check out Guvernment tonight, let's see how that will work.

I'm just going to say this once. I don't intend to participate in any arguments relating to the subject.
Those "cracked out" people doing drugs who don't seem to care about the music are more than likely the regulars at Viva. They keep the place alive and pay Viva's bills. If it wasn't for them, the place wouldn't exist. So far I have seen one (1) newly-registered tranceaddict who goes to Viva regularly - if and when the rest of you start supporting the club like he does, then maybe you'll have a right to complain about the druggies. Until then, either live with it, be happy that you've got such great talent in such an awesome venue, or just don't go.
Man, I'm sorry to bitch, but this is the only thing that -seriously- upsets me here, people dissing clubs when they don't have a fucking clue what the reality is. Well get a clue you guys, Temporal Rhythm may be closely tied into TA and that's awesome for us, but Viva is a club run by totally separate people who you've never met and likely never will meet, and their primary concern is to make money, not to weed out "unsavoury" characters to make it a more pleasant experience for you.
I thought it was a great party and I had a great time, possibly because I spent 98% of my time with the TA's up front (which you whiners should have also done), but in all honesty the crowd did not bother me. Most of the people seemed pretty polite, they were letting me through and saying "excuse me" when trying to get through. That's all I ask for in a crowded place.
OH damn@!!!!!
aw well....I guess I was saving up for BT/Corsten/Ferry... :P

Hello All!
Just My 2 Cents here.
Hartec - Wicked stuff, his Last hour was increadable. I had planned to be on my feat for Johans set alone but i just had to dance. 8.5/10
Johan - What can I say, he brings SO much energy to the croud. EVERYSONG he was up working the croud, singing his heart out! Music was very nice, i expected him to drop Freeloader or the Sensation anthem and that would have made it a 10/10 but Twisted left me happy. The underworld track was a gem! 9/10
Oliver - First time i heard Oliver, not bad, Loud, little too loud though. BK and the Energy 52 Marco V Remix Remix was wicked. Tomcraft was nice at the end. Unfortunatly Olivers style is not my cup of tea, so it was a 6/10 from me, but mix and energywise it was a 8/10
Crowd - Not bad, again the issue with the 40 yr old's wondering around with their eyes buggin out.
Lighting - WOW! even better then i remember. there were times i was mistified by them! Sometimes it was hard to see, towards the end though. (Loved the screens to see the DJ's, it was very nice to see them spin)
TA's - Everyone i met was so nice, I felt right at home in the place, even when i drifted off and was around noone i "knew". Im so bad with names, but thanx to everyone that i chilled with, i can remember specifially about 15 of you guys, but names, no clue. lol.
There seemed to be more though then I met, sorry not to meet you.
Overall - Worth the $100+ it cost me to get there, just. lol. This wont be an often thing because it is so hard to get there. 9/10 on the evening.
Ampz
ps. Lets hope one of the DJ;s will get back to me in regards to the Demo CD i got them, maybe a REMIX
As for the overall evening, wicked stuff, cost me $100
