LilKandiAngel do you watch foreign films?
you should check out the Japanese releases of Ring if you enjoyed the American release.
The Ring(aka Ringu) = 1st Part (1998)
The Ring 2 = Sequel to Ring (2000)
The Ring 0 = Prequel to Ring (2000)
The Ring Virus = 4th Part (?) - haven't seen this
I have seen quite a few really messed up/sick/violent
Japanese movies. I'm telling ya these japanese producers aren't humans
The usual suspects really amazed me, i never ever thought it would be the guy it was in the end.
and as far as the ring i really wanna see the Japanese versions..... those guys r honestly nuts about film making.
in Greece this summer i was watching some really amazing Anime Dvd's........ they were just WoW!
Woo hoo! I get to be the one to post these gems:
"Jacob's Ladder" (< totally crazy flick!)
"The Blair Witch Project" (filmed in Maryland
)
"12 Monkeys"
"The Sixth Sense" keeps you in the dark til the end (tho I'm sure everyone's seen that). That movie elicited the most intense & weird response out of me- felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach really hard, and was a mess for an hour afterwards, and I can't explain why that happened to me.
For REALLY twisted stuff.....
"The Cement Garden" (incest, masturbation, & cross-dressing among kids- one the whole family can enjoy!)
"Once Were Warriors" (a really heavy film)
"Gummo" (from the maker of "Kids")
Check out movies by a native to my home state of Maryland, John Waters. This is the man who invented 'Aromavision' (viewing a movie w/a scratch & sniff card, and sometimes the smells aren't so pleasant!). All his movies are filmed in Baltimore too. The older the movie is, the sicker the script. His mainstream breakthru was "Hairspray".
I like any of David Lynch's films PRIOR to "Lost Highway'. < I thought that and "Mulholland Drive" were pretty crap in comparison to older movies of his.
The leaders of B-movies: Troma films (makers of "The Toxic Avenger"). "Tromeo & Juliet" is pretty twisted, & "Attack of the Killer Condoms" is great.
heheh it was not till a year later did i learn that Bruce Wills was dead in the movie, hehe how bad was that.(The Sixth Sense)

Run Lola Run is a great movie!
I didn't think anyone else had every seen it
I think UHF w/ Weird Al Yankovich & Michael Richards is a pretty messed up movie...in a very comical sense...
"Ohhhh Joe Miller...you just found the marble in the oatmeal! you're a lucky lucky little boy you know why?"
"why?"
"Cuz you get to drink from....THE FIREHOSE!!!!!!
Open Wide!!!!"
I'm with LiL_Kandi_AngeL on that one. We watched that together, and were like "WTF??" Lynch films I liked were "Wild at Heart", "Dune" and "Blue Velvet". He also made the "Twin Peaks" tv series, "The Elephant Man" & the infamous "Eraserhead" (< I just didn't get it- maybe I was too young?).
I saw "Julian Donkey Boy" during my week of recovery after my surgery, and I just didn't dig it. The characters were really annoying (on top of creepy) and I didn't like the film stock he used (grainy old film).
