I'm not american biased (except in the sense that I'm an american)

I'm saying that in PRINCIPLE we give everybody a fair chance to prove innocence. We do have something called the bill of rights that does technically guaruntee liberties to all people. Of course in practice this will never be true because there will always be immoral people out there that will go against this.

You are never allowed to torture anybody!!!!! And that is fucking it.... When people die because of torture, the one who tortured someone is just as bad (maybe even worse) then terrorists!!!

I can't even believe that someone thinks it is okay to torture someone....

Okay sure, you have your opinion too.

heres a scenario

Someone you love very much is kidnapped by terrorists and you have no idea where he/she is. One day you and your thug friends see one of these terrorists one day somewhere alone. Do you:

a) pass by forgiving this terrorist for kidnapping possibly killing your loved one and smile at him

or

b) break out the bats, and with your friends beat him on the street until he cant walk, then take him somewhere to interogate him about the locations of your loved one and other details under he tells you

i hope you can make the right judgement.

I am not the police and I don't do things in name of a country!! I can do that if I wanted too. Those people who torture suspects act in the name of the United States. And that is just plain wrong. They should be tortured so they can feel how it is to be tortured.

NO they aren't acting in the name of the United States...they're acting as individuals...even if the US were to make rules and laws stating that it is ILLEGAL to torture the terrorist suspects you still would have no control over a bunch of americans who interrogate these murderers overseas somewhere completely secluded and secret...shit happens

Torture is a relatively inefficient way of obtaining accurate information, unless a specific piece of information is being sought rather than "general information." That is to say, only if the tortured individual believes the torture will stop when an objective is reached that information he could provide would hasten will the information obtained through torture be reliable and useful.

I do believe there exist theoretical circumstances in which torture would be not only morally justifiable, but morally requisite. However, these scenarios must involve far more imminent threats than the U.S. may reasonably believe exist. Hence, torture in this instance is simply not appropriate. I do not believe that torture facilitates the greatest good in our present situation.

WRONG!

The CIA, the FBI or every other government agency do something in name of their country. Everything they do is because the government of that country thinks it is OK to do it. which means that if the CIA kills someone you can hold the US government accountable for that killing.

Same goes for the interrogaters (does this word exist...?) that interrogate those terrorists. When something happens to them because of something the interrogaters did, you can hold the US government accountable for it. If you like it or not....

yeah man... torture is just plain wrong...

if u want info ... pump subjects with drugs... that more relaible and makes more sense... when u resort to torture, u're resorting to just plain bullying...

now to let a rant out ... america's war against afghanistan and the rebels who were in control was sooo gay... i was back home at that time... and we got to see some local clips not shown on cnn... the country didnt have any resources anyways... naked children running around... the us planes were dropping bombs and ppl were trying to catch them thinking they were food packages... that just plain made me sick...

i come from a place which is just a little better ... sitting here in north america i do not think that ppl have any idea of the genral standard of living in the 3rd world

bah...

just had to let that out... off topic, sorry

I am originally from Israel and dont understand, using your own logic, why its okay for Egypt to fight against terror groups plaguing its country, yet you strongly condemn the disease that is Arafat and the many Islamic extremists that wage the same level of terror (if not more) against Israel.
Oh, thats right, because its against Jews and that makes it okay. We all know that Jews are the scum of the earth who make matzos on Passover with Arab blood.
Sometimes we got to do what we got to do... and Im glad that your above mentioned comments reiterate this logic that Israel and America stand so strongly by.
This whole time I was under the impression that you disagreed with those who want to put a stop to terror groups... Im glad you dont.

hohoho another hate the american government thread and you all dont know it

i'm loving all the armchair comments guys, comedy gold. so far blik has the most points, the rest of you are lagging behind.

keep em coming!

oh, just remember, real torture is the emotional grief the families of the victims of 9/11, and other terrorist acts have lived through, and will still live through for many years.
