Ok so the French saved the US's ass like once, hmm lets not forget that France wouldn't even be a fucking country if it wasn't for the US in WW2. Personally i don't think countries should have to ask for other countries permission to go to war. If one has reasons to go to war then let them deal with it, other countries can remain neutral or involve themselved if they would like.

So what if US helped France. That doesn't mean that France should support every action commited by the US. As I said many times before, US helped France fight a defensive war, while is now asking the French to support them fight an offensive war. If the US was to be attacked, I am pretty sure France would support it. But US is not attacked, at least not by Iraq, so there's no reason to support the offensive. And since the US is a member of the UN, and has all the rights and priviledges UN members do (even more than most), it should also comply with its rules. Defying the UN is basically defying a global community, and I think that we should work towards creating a more united and connected planet rather than returning to the state isolationism. Besides, UN can't block a US attack on Iraq, but it can say it doesn't support it, and that's exactly what France is doing. It's not like France will use its military to counter the US. But US should be aware that the most of the world is against the action. And if they still decide to do what they intended, they will do it against the will of the global community and they will suffer economic and diplomatic consequences as an indirect result of their defying of the UN.

Btw, why do you people keep bringing topics like this into the chillout room when there's a nice political debate section here also?

French fires!!! ahahahhahaahh!!! Freedom Fries???? BUWHWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAAAAAAA

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I was in France, few years ago on a school trip and that was my first encounter with those assholes. Firs of all, you think New Yorkers are rude??? tHey are downright sweethearts comparing to frenchies. The place we ate at served us fried chicken with fries. Chicken looked like pigeon, deep fried with its feathers still intact and fries were small, soggy, and nasty. The only one enjoying my meal were abundant supply of dung flies. For the rest of the trip we ate at Burger King... Fucking subway in Paris did not have a single instruction in English and for us, commuting from somewhere off of Third Triumph Arch to downtown paris it was a long hike for which we had to buy some weird ticket. Well, no instructions said that - the conductors (or whatever you call those ******s) almost fined us for 300 franks for not having the right ticket. I couldn't even explain what happened to them in english - I had to fucking tell them in Italian!!! Needless to say, I won't be visiting France anytime soon. Hope the entire fuckign world boycotts those smelly, arrogant, hairy, pussy cocksuckers. And if you're French and offended by this, honestly - FUCK YOU!

Well, wars usually are because of politics, don't you agree? And the fact is that days before war breaks out a new large bomb is developed which is designed to bring fear into the soldiers because of its huge blast. Hmm, something here reminds me of WOMDs. Hell, the US just might use a nuke over Baghdad instead, to really show who's the boss.

Tito ... bombs don't get designed overnight you know. This thing has probably been in development for several years given how long it takes for the military to go through design phases and then award the final contract. It was designed to replace the daisy cutter, 16,000 lb bomb that was used in Vietnam to clear out helicopter landing areas in the jungle, so it's not an entirely new concept. Anyway someone said that it was big but not smart ... but it's a BIG SMART bomb! It's guided by aerial fins and satellites ... not that it really needs to be smart since it's so big.

Everytime I'm with French people I have a wonderful time. They are extremely nice and will help when needed, and are very mannerful. Maybe there so bad against Americans cause Americans expect to have everything they're way...
no offense

Yes it's very impractical as a military weapon. First of all, it is carried by a VERY slow, very large, prop-driven transport plane (C-130) that anyone using a shoulder launched SAM can bring down with relative ease. Secondly, It's simply overkill in most battlefield situations. Why use a 20,000 lb bomb to destroy maybe 10 tanks when you can use 10 100kg missiles or smart bombs at a far cheaper cost. The only real practical military application is to use it as a bunker buster. There are already 4000 lb and 6000lb bunker buster bombs though. Don't expect very many of these to actually be used.

This is the proper pronunciation (just to be correct) :

YEAH MANZ, BOMBS ARE KOOL BECAZZZZZ [DEY] KILLZZZZ [PEEPZ] AND BLOWEDDDDD DEM UP, HOMIE.

Dunno

I find it funny that we develop a 22,000 pound bomb and then we hardly have any planes that are capable of carrying it

What's the point in that really? Waste of technology IMO.

bush said he was going to go to war without un approval and he said it would be better if there was

about the bomb, he said it was just for psychological reasons, to scare people

Yea you got a good point. I don't mean to argue with you, we were just debating and it made me sound like i was for the war which i'm not. I'm against this war with Iraq and i think people are underestimating Iraq. I would like for Saddam to be captured or killed or watever. The French arent trying to have another World War so thats probably why they aren't backing the US, however i agree that if Iraq attacks then the French should back the US.
