I would like to see that movie.. probably on divx any moment now..

i just saw "tigerlands" kickass movie!!! probably just as good as .. full metal jacket.. its quite the same.. pretty good acting, cool script, average music i give an 8

I also saw "lost souls" dont watch it lol.. it will scare the shit out of you lol.. stupid exorcism! I also give this one a 8...

it isn't even out yet in Holland, but probably I don't even like it, I think it's a movie especially for the Americans, we Europeans don't give a shit about Pearl Harbour.......

wow, you don't care about Pearl Harbor? If it wasn't for the Japanese attacking the US and brining the Americans into the war, then its likely many more Europeans would have died and that the war would have gone on for many more years if not possibly been lost...

I actually enjoyed this movie, I went in 'looking' for flag waving since I know American movies do that quite often.. You know there wasn't that much of it, actually surprised me a bit.

The only thing that was somewhat silly was the ending mission which was done to make the Americans feel better. I guess they couldn't just make a movie about the Americans getting their asses kicked and leaving it at that

I think that movie was not blatantly American bravado, its an American movie, American perspective, so obviously its American Biased... Why is that wrong, if the British make a film about WW2, then nobody says, hey this is totally british biased, thats because thats obvious... Every country sees the war through their own eyes, I don't see how you can expect the Americans to make a movie without them making it from their perspective...

Bashing America is a common thing for Europeans, but if you are going to do it at least have a real reason... We can't expect Americans to make movies that cater to all people of the world, they are catering to their people first..

I even noticed that the scenes from Britain showed one thing accurately, the desperation and bravery of the British airmen defending their country in desperation.. Its a story that needs to be shown more, the Battle of Britain movie is quite good if you haven't seen it...

BTW I'm not a pro-american by any means, I'm born Icelandic, live in Canada and I've seen a lot of perspectives on this anti-american sentiment..

Just a note, Canadians pride themselves on NOT being American, I don't get why people think Canadians want to be American.. You ask any Canadian if you could move to America, would you? The overwhelming answer would be NO...

See Tora! Tora! Tora! another great Pearl Harbor film, its being shown on the History channel non-stop lately...

Enough of the American crap , Americans are selfishes and egocentrics , Pearl Harbor is only another propaganda crap . Don't forget that America killed and still kills innocent people all around the world , Pearl Harbor is here to show us that Americans are innocents (my ass) which is false . Open ur eyes people and see what's happening ...

Most of that movie is based on factual events, many of the characters in the movie were based on real people... How is a movie that is basicly 2hrs of America getting its ass kicked propaganda? .... Have you seen the movie?

And in the movie they showed that there was quite a few who wanted to join the war, but it was congress who didn't want Americans in the war. America wasn't innocent, they were just very hesitant to join a war being fought an ocean away..

I think opening your eyes is a good idea, your focused on such anti-american sentiment that you only see bad...

Yes I agree Americans are proud, self-interested, sometimes pompus, arrogant, etc.. But they are not all bad, calling an entire nation bad is quite harsh, there are lots of good people in America.. You do realize America is full of morocans, British, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Arab, Canadians, etc.... So you not only insult them, you insult yourself by making such broad statements..

You don't earn respect by insulting a nation, if you made an intelligent point about something America does wrong fine, but just to say, hey they suck is not going to win you any awards

Every country has their bad points, do you think every country in this world doesn't think they are the greatest in their minds? Do you think other countries don't kill innocent people? Do you think other countries are all devoid of problems and that only America has problems?

I think you need to open your eyes (Perception), you only see hate for a country...

Heres a wise word for you...

I bet you will be surprised, I really went into this movie looking hard for American propoganda, there wasn't very much at all...

People often mistake American perspective for propoganda, its just all how you look at it...

yeah i hear ya. many times i go watch a movie and pay a lot of attention to the camerawork and technicalities of it. i dunno...just a reflexive instinct i guess.

Sorry I don't speak french.. Yes America was in the war indirectly, but they weren't in the most important way.. The war needed men, and also they needed America in full production of war equipment. Before pearl harbor there was not a lot of tank, plane, etc.. Production going on... After pearl harbor the entire focus of the American's became war...

Without Pearl Harbor you could argue that it would have taken 5-10 more years before the Nazi's could have been defeated.. The Americans helped win the war faster and you can thank Pear Harbor for that.. Those are facts...

As for Americans making fun of Canadians, we do that to! Every Canadian knows a good American joke, but thats in our nature. Canadians have a good sense of humour, we don't take it personally when Americans poke fun at us because we do it to them...

I'm not defending America, I'm disagreeing with your points... I also think America as a government is very bad, I could give lots of examples but I think its not the place to discuss it..
