Yes but they are destorying those missles that will carry or have those WMD aren't they? They can't just destroy them overnight just like that. I'm for disarmament (not regime change) which could be done without going to war and then from there see what will happen, if his behaviour constitutes regime change after then so be it.

I was going to stay out of this thread, but I just want to say that this is a very good point. It's very, very sad for the Iraqi people that this has to happen, but Saddam is the target, not the people. This wouldn't be the first instance of a leader screwing over his/her country...

Although it's hard to know for sure what I would do, I think if I found out that my country's leader was doing something incredibly controversial or, well, downright evil, then I would seriously consider leaving the country. Maybe that sounds far-fetched, but I actually have some friends in the U.S. who already have a whole plan for skipping off to Europe if Bush steps overboard...

is there any proof that saddam in the past 10 years, has committed atrocities against humanity???

Not since the "No Fly Zone" was implemented in the last war...

Probably kept him in check...

Iraq is a bastard creation of the treaty of Versailles. Even though the name of the country means 'well-rooted nation', it is anything but.

Ok, let's separate something from this arguement.

Bush is there because other countries and Iraqis people WANT him there besides Saddam being an obvious international threat; that's certainly not the issue here.

Blame Bush and you blame a lot of others with this arguement.
We only have to look as far as who is backing this 'coalilition of the willing'; Bush is certianly not acting alone...

And as far as Saddam not giving a 'fuck about no fly zones', I really don't believe Saddam's quite that naive or dumb; he's been in power for how long now? He's obviously a cunning man to have survived this long...

well think abou this...the UN didnt give an OK to move on with the war, inspite of which Bush decided to give a fuck about UN policies and go on???

i got a couple points to argue against trancearmada, but i wont do so unless he gives me permission

aside, some of you guys keep concentrating on Saddam this saddam that. There are other ways of taking him out without war. Plus, it aint like the US government are angels either. Did you know..Bush Sr, Cheney, Powell were all charged for war crimes? Were they ever tried..psshh yea right

did you guys see when Bush was telling the Iraqi gov not to blow their oil fields ,according to Bush they will need the oil to rebuild Iraq!!!

what i'm saying is that it is possible that there are other counties who pose just as much of an immediate threat or moreso than Iraq to the US .. and IF SO, then why does the US choose to single out Iraq in this case .. ?

how come they are not saying anything to Pakistan,Idia.Those countries have nuclear weapons too!!

Check the Iraq heading at this link http://i-cias.com/e.o/ and note the forces of history sweeping over the region. Hardly a 'nation' in the sense that the people have a shared ethnicity or history that binds them together.

pffft..so does china and N Korea...see them trying anythign with them??

heres the problem they face....should they attack pakistan, they lose a vital US base to control and keep an eye on India.

should they attack India, China and Russia will react.
