WOW. what a fucking night. i found this set mindblowing. pvd came on and right from the beginning was jumping around with his records in his hands and the crowd was off the hook. i thought this set was on another level- it beat roxy nov and feb as well as sound factory. everything about the night was incredible. pvd was having so much fun and the crowd knew exactly what was up! the spell was my moment of DEATH! nothing but you finished mixes are fucking great! i must say i was very impressed with space, a spectacular club. the sound system kills roxy's phazon and everything else about the club is great, including the staff. i loved miami, the WMC, and ULTRA as well.....
but PvD night at SPACE was definitely the highlight. pure magic. lots of three table action. he was way off the hook!
how are his typical sets at space? are they nearly as energetic? comparable to ny 6 hr sets?
WOW !!!!

Edgar brought it in nice for a couple tracks before handing over the decks for Guy Ornadel...a treat for me, personally...I've always wanted to hear him play live since his Slinky release, and was quite glad to get the opportunity finally. He was quite the treat, playing dark and hard and progressive and trippy and trancey all at once...He looked like he was having a blast up there, and I must say he seemed to be quite the true gentleman, supporting other dj's in the side room and the main stage as they played before he went on. I wish the floor would have been more packed for him, but those who were there were absolutely going off. I counted at least six groups of people who came up to me wondering incredulously, "who IS this??? This is amazing!!!" We finally dragged ourselves out of there around 11am. Quite the PROPER party!!! Space does it again! |

I met a few other ta's too but can't remember their names, sorry.....What an amazing clubnight though! Probably the best performance I've ever seen by PVD. That track that everyones talking about too "Your dreams have now been fulfilled, let's get up, let's get ill" That was insane!!! Especially jumping up and down and lookin on stage only to see P Diddy screaming the lyrics to it! I had sooo much fun @ the new venue, security was shit but other then that I have no complaints. PVD fucked it up later on that night as well @ Ultra. A very nice follow up to Underworlds amazing show. See you all there next year!!!! |
alright. here's my review. i finally caught up on my sleep to the point where i could type it up.
it was a mission getting down to miami, but we finally got in around 1 and i got to space34 at 1:45. now the ticket was $50, which was a bit too much, but hell for 6 hours of pvd, i'll pay it!! so i did and got in with an id that wasn't mine.
. once inside i kept looking for people but didn't see anyone. but i eventually found you all! so nice to meet so many tas for the first time! bri, alex, tatgirl, j_spot, and a fellow GTA overseas! and of course brent and arturo, ALWAYS GOOD PARTYING WITH YOU TWO!!! all you guys really seemed to make me go
. i was having such a good time i couldn't stop smiling.
pvd rocked my world so hardcore. he played NEARLY everything i wanted to hear, and a lot of things i didn't expect him to play. i DIED when he played clocks. I LOVE IT!!! wavy gravy i ided BEFORE arturo! MUHAHAHAHAHHA
. it was such a good atmosphere. i love the new space! never been to the old one, but oh well. when i first saw p diddy, i was like "wtf???" but i actually do like the lets get ill song. although i didn't like the fact that he made paul spin that whack ass for an angel remix. i think that is soooooooo fucked up! the one song i always wanted pvd to spin, that i've never heard him spin is for an angel, and the FIRST time i hear it, p diddy (the uberpunk of all punks) picks probably the WORST remix. god damn it i hate p diddy. but other than that, pvd played an amazing set. i don't know if it can compare to lfa 2002, but it was still DAMN good! had me dancing the entire night, even in those uncomfortable shoes! that night just proves to me why pvd is my god!
OMFG!!! when paul played breaks for about 20 mins!! OMFG!! i was like the only one going nuts. arturo was just standing there, BUT ARTURO I AM TELLING YOU, EVEN PAUL KNOWS ABOUT BREAKS!! its amazing!!! and pvd sure knows how to pick the good ones!
pvd playing breaks...OMFG OMFG OMFG I DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one thing i didn't like about space though, brent and i went to the other room real quick to sit down and then like 10 mins later they wouldn't let us back into the main room. so we missed about 30 mins of pvd, which i was kinda upset about. i mean i did pay $50!!! jackasses. but we eventually got back, so its all good. OMFG and when the lights dropped from the ceiling...SUCH an amazing atmosphere. i kinda wanted to jump up and grab on and then sit on it and watch pvd. but they woulda thrown me out. hehe
thank you to paul and all tas who made this night so very special to me! i will never forget it!

Edgar V + PvD

the rest of the pics were either dark or out of focus
my review:
kicked ass
highlight of the night: Paul van Dyk & Jan Jonhston - Home
WOW, is all I can say. I love hard dark german trance, but Paul just blew me away
-.fred
This song ---> Kyau vs. Albert - Velvet Morning (Mirco De Govia Mix)
is absolutely unbelieviable!!!! PVD played it at both Ultra and Space. I also remember hearing Words and the Nu-Nrg remix of For An Angel. The Nu-Nrg remix might have been at Ultra and not Space.
Does anyone know which song it was that skipped at Ultra. I'm thinking that it might have been Chakra - Doors.
