I wish

I'm simply going on the amount of tunes ferry had in the gatecrasher top 100, and the amount PvD had........
which were voted by a wide range of people who go to gatecrasher, and a huge amount of tracks that were special to them were by Ferry Corsten. Just because you think PvD's done more for GC than anyone else, doesn't make it so.....
in fact he could probably be blamed for charging such ridiculous prices, so GC made a loss, and was forced to go monthly....
on the last night at GC, I wouldn't want 6 hours of any one DJ, it'd be wrong

it's pretty much the only thing u can judge him on, as he's hardly ever in the country

i wudnt want 6 hours of any dj either.

however...

ferry is a producer/dj

pvd is a dj/producer

IMO

u cannot even begin to compare them as DJ's. its like people comparing PvD and Armin, simply not in the same league. What was Ferry doing in 1998? he was some unknown working away in a studio in rotterdam.

PvD was headlining Crasher at the time, helping make it the most successful trance club ever.

Case Closed.

that would be a horrendous finishing night.. not because i hate PvD, but because a big night like that brings in a totally different crowd.

the only fitting way to end gatecrasher would be a lineup like the first red n black. something that will attract all the regulars and keep the wankers out.

but obviously rainey doesn't give a fuck about that so he'll most probably finish it with PvD.

judge jules, everyone forgets what he did

you seem to have misunderstood
I haven't said PvD shouldn't be there, as shitloads of people like him. I ,personally, hate him
but for the last gatecrasher night, it shouldn't be a PvD 6 hour set, it doesn't cater for everyones tastes.
as for the whole ferry being an unknown in 98, thats bullshit.
He was unknown as DJ, but not a producer!
Galaxia was done in 96, out of the blue, cry, gouryella, etc... were all done in 98, all Gatecrasher "anthems".

and case closed?
you're not twig, and this isn't the GC board

so have mediocre dj's as per usual just to keep outsiders away?

p.s i don't want PvD 6 hour set for last crasher. still think it'd be mint like.

no but we were referring to DJ's who have done more for crasher.

PvD blatently has done more....

so...

case closed.

like ive said, i don't want a PvD 6 hour set for last crasher, i don't think its appropriate. Im just saying if it was that, he's the best dj for the job.

aye mediocre indeed.

Dom you aint gonna win a pvd argument in UKTA, this is last great bastion of enlightenment against the darkness that is the droll shite the pvd churns out month on month. We know the score and we're proud.

SHame about Ben, he was a fuckin legend and i'm sorry to see him go.

I'm quite concerned over the future of GC being that I was in full belief that he was the only guy within the GC management (apart from maybe Bond) that was keeping the thing going.

Posted by Ste on Mar-26-2003 17:11:

may this photo, encompass our thoughts of ben, and be a testamoney to his work for crasher.

legend

edit: i never noticed the badge on his top til now, LMFAO

I was more concerned with the fact that i feel that PVD defines mediocre. If i had to name any DJ that was mediocre it would be him.
