yeah a lot of those guys on the scene wouldn't know a good trance set if it flew down from the sky with big lights on it saying "THIS IS A GOOD TRANCE SET"... While Mark James was good, he wasn't a patch on van Dyk -- this thread is an example of what happens when you have a diet of only progressive.

oh, and the funniest thing I saw all day today: some dude on TS trying to tell Steve he was a trance n00b!

Still can't get over the magic of Kyau vs Albert- Velvet Morning, and STILL rocking to Circ - Destroy She Said. I've never seen so many happy faces on a dance floor as I did during that track.

HAHAHA i seen that, its gold

PvD owned

WOW... what a night... I finally got to meet exactly FOUR TA's... Ahmet, Helen, Cam and Paul... It was a pleasure... Thanks to Ahmet for recognizing me... Sorry I couldn't hang around... Had a friend that always gets lost in QBH with me, needed to be in the same spot when she got back...

We arrived just as Mark James started playing, I was liking his set... I always thought of him as more of a prog DJ... He threw a couple of nice trancers in... made it good...

Then Scott Alert... I was amazed... I've heard him at HK... and never liked him... but on this particular night he was in a different mood... thumbs up from me...

Finally... PVD... I've never seen him play... never really interested me that much... but WOW... that's all I can say... from memory, the first hour was REALLY good... then it felt like he brought it down just a notch... only to build back up again... Honestly, he lived up to his name as one of the best DJs around... I was really impressed... Everyone is saying he started off with Nothing But You... I thought I heard him play Viframa - Cristalle (Katana's Intro Mix) after he was announced... but then again... maybe i'm a shocking IDer ... no matter... i am also now a fan of PVD...

Don't remember much of Papa Smurt's set... it was OK... nothing special...was expecting more... but how could he compare?

Then Sean Quinn... disappointed me... I was also expecting more... Personally, I thought his set was waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too mellow...

Overall... average venue... too full... no passouts... AND... was it just me... or did the sets surrounding PVD really fit his style? It seemed that the music flowed really well from one DJ to the next... Unlike TT... where we had nothing but hard trance except Armin...

In conclusion... 28/3/03 Kabuki_4.0 ROCKED...

i met u mmm cant remember still havents slept from fri nite just finished fuck it ill sleep tonite

Posted by SeeK on Mar-30-2003 05:32:

Mikrop, NP man, was nice 2 meet u... Umm and they did give pass outs, but only after 5, cos i didnt bother 2 bring my DVD cover, then when i saw how close the DJ Stand was 2 the crowd, i thought i better go back 2 car and get it, so after 5 i ran out and got it...

Paul, yeah u met him, lol, wat were u on man?

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Mar-30-2003 05:42:

Yeah mikrop I could've sworn the first track was Viframa Cristalle (katana meets dj precision mix) and I think he mixed it out like 2 mins into the track just when the beats starts going into "nothing but you".

That's what it sounded like to me.

Lolol don't look too enthused philby

Posted by arkhan on Mar-30-2003 06:42:

was probably the least enjoyable of the last 4 times seeing PvD in Melb but it was still an awesome night out and was probably one of the best fun in quite a few months...figure that out if u can

highlights were:
another way!!!
solid sleep - club attack
and circ - destroy she said

and hearing nothing but you ...three times i think? hehe...
its not a tune i think i could listen to many times on repeat but its awesome fun with a big crowd and everything like at QBH

hello to everyone too

Don't know what song your talking about but it might be Rokk Wild Feat. Kay T - Come Closer (Pronti and Kalmani Mix)

this is one of the worst vocals ive ever heard

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Mar-30-2003 08:06:

Not neccessarily an amazing track, but was also cool to hear Svenson & Gielen - Twisted.

Good crowd control. I think it was played in the first hour.

they are the culprits

hehe the one in the middle is actually jacinta, head promoter of Kandy. so i guess she was just doin her bit to rev up one of her boys. but it still woulda been funny to see your shoe hurling through the air and shutting them up.

Hmmm.... Euphorica... don't think i met u... I met Stipsy... forgot his name... thought I'd guess...

For some reason the vocals in Rokk Wild ft. Kay-T - Come Closer remind me of an 80s song... Male vocals... INXS or someone similar...

eerily enuff... i was thinkin exactly the same thing.

the vocals sound very similar to Don't Stand So Close by the Police. that's what i end up singin when i try to sing along anywayz.
