I forgot about that! Everytime I see that part my jaw drops and I think to myself "Was this movie really made in f***ing 1984?"

Also agree with the never ending story music, especially at the end when the kid rides the flying dog (falcor, I think) and scares away all those bullies (such children we are, haha )

How come no one has mentioned the scene in Groove where John Digweed drops Heaven Scent, and the guy kisses the girl right when the melody comes in? And you all call yourself TrancEaddicts

Agreed entirely, +
"God Moving Over The Face of Waters" in Heat at the end in the shootout at the airport, i dont think there could be a more dramatic piece of musci to end the film with, I just love the piano.

I agree with Requiem For A Dream being one of the greatest soundtracks ever- Two more movies that also have a great soundtrack are:
The Rock <--- amazing for a summer blockbuster type movie
Wild Things <--- sndtrck by George S. Clinton however it is done in a very non funk manner

-Braveheart definitely worthy of mention, the sceneofthe burial of his father brings me to tears every time.

-Trainspotting of course, just a fabulous soundtrack.
Dark and Long and playing bingo by far the best sequence.

-This is an obscure one, but Searching for Bobby Fisher has always struck me as the best soundtrack, just gorgeous instrumental subtle tracks.

-Contact has some fantastic pieces in it.

i woulk like to creat a scene for a movie around a particular trance song with emotion. that would just be it.

GLADIATOR where he finds his wife and son murdered...paris and sharp made a song out of these vocals- "aphrodite" (tarretella & redanka rmx)...very intense

dunno now many times thse have been mentioned...

requiem for a dream - simply amazing soundtrack. my god so depressing but so good. puts you on a totally different level

david lynch's 'lost highway' and 'mulholland drive' - most david lynch movies have great soundtracks because of angelo badaalamenti. these two soundtracks just rocked. the music set up the scenes so well it was unreal.

half the movie is seeing it and the other is hearing the sound. those are my three favorites movies, and i dont think thats a coincidence.

most micheal mann movies have great sounds, heat has some wicked ambient/techy sounds... i love it

also , the insider has a wicked soundtrack, especially when te main character is in his room having illusions of his child...

I thought the orchestrated theme from Armageddon was pretty good.

I like the song in The Rock, I think Airbase made it.

Posted by k.k.d. on Apr-01-2003 05:49:

Yeah, Airbase's version "rocks", but the original is godly also...
