Posted by sash on Apr-02-2003 15:18:

just wanted to add that i think this track kills rapture, in terms of overall goodness

Posted by biznology on Apr-02-2003 17:35:

shudder...

this song is already destined to be cheese the way you are all talking about it.

1 take it off repeat, you cant bitch about 'shitty radio music' if you are guilty of the same crime as they are...

2 dont say r*****e, s******n s*n, or anything resembling those songs - they are instant death!

it may be a good song, but why overhype it and play it out? once it actually comes into full dj rotation all you TAers will be bitching about how shitty it is!

Posted by Az on Apr-02-2003 18:25:

it's beautiful
dave, if you're reading this, you and josh truly are heroes

very good song, I like it very much

Posted by davedresden on Apr-03-2003 16:10:

thanks guys

"as the rush comes" was written in 20 minutes after a long weekend of writing songs with singer jes brieden. we decided to run into the studio on the last day she was in san fran to see what we could come up with in the two hours before her plane ride.

we have four other completed vocals with jes, but none have been produced yet. we're planning on making a full album of this - and not your typical "dance music concept" album. we're hopefully going to have a four song demo done by june.

right now, there's all kinds of label interest in this tune. we've licensed it to tiesto's upcoming mix album, and scott bond's next gatecrasher comp as well. another big name trance dj has expressed interest on putting on his dj mix album to be out in june.

all i can say is that i'm elated that the second original tune i completed with josh is getting so much attention. if this tune gets as popular as "rapture"that's fine - remember - we didn't make it so we could have a big payday (and neither did iio when she made "rapture"). we did it because we love making music. and if the masses are into it, that's a big plus!

remember, just because songs get popular, doesn't mean the artist "sold out"

thanks again for the support

- dave

p.s. josh and i just finished a remix of jewel's new single "intuition" we did a vocal mix and a dub. this mix is going to catch people off guard...hopefully in a good way:P

i cant wait for that and the andain album!!! damnit, the suspense is killing me. oh well, keep up the good work

oh, and "as the rush comes" doesn't begin with the acappella. i just used that in the essential mix so i could make a transition from "lament" which is 128 bpm to "rush comes" which is 136.

and the male vocal i played in the global dj broadcast is from a record called "the warning" by logic. it was released on strictly rhythm in 1989. it was sampled in way out west's "domination" a bunch of years back.

love this tune, very nice indeed!

Posted by dj Zevan on Apr-03-2003 17:01:

great song, love it from the first time i heard it
i was hoping the male vocals were part of the song
can't you make a version with these vocals ?
the transition from male to female vocals in the essential mix is incredible

Posted by clubsolutely on Apr-03-2003 18:28:

we all know this track is awesome..
so please tell me when it will be released and on which label???
hope it will be rel soon!

Posted by davedresden on Apr-03-2003 18:48:

labels all of us have heard of are making bids on the tune.

i'm sure they're going to want to have it for the ibiza season, so it shouldn't be too long.

wait until you all hear a song called "imagination" we should have it finished by may.

Fantastic

It'll be good to get some DJs who actually give a damn about mixing
