Of course, this is all speculation on my part... just wondering what everyone else thinks.

I said this yesterday while watching the game. Definitely.

No one talks about the pitchers, it's always the hitters. But they have seen dramatic decreases in velocity in a number of pitchers, a lot of middle relievers generally.

I'm not so much in the mood to talk about the Yanks now. They make me sick!

Well... they just tied it up. 3-3. Really though... what's up with RJ? The more I see... the more I say he's done. He's struck out 1 Brewer. 1!!! They strike out like crazy.

He's facing the Brewers in an NL park... he needed a two hit shut out or something. Already given up 2 runs in the first. He better shut them down from here on out.

Interesting that Yankees sign NL pitchers who aren't able to adjust too well (other than Lieber last year), but meanwhile looking at the BoSox...
Curt Schilling had the best record in the AL in his first season switching over. Matt Clement has done quite well also.

Bases loaded, no outs. Strikeout, then Juiceambi DP. That's what makes me sick!!

yup, after being helped by 3 walks in a row by Doug Davis

Vernon came up with the idea to trade Juiceambi for a used condom. Think there's any takers?

Can I post that here? I guess I just did.

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-07-2005 02:37:

I wonder how many of the silly radio callers are saying "This is crazy. Johnson sucks. Trade him back for Vasquez. Look how good he's doing this year!"

Posted by Member of X on Jun-07-2005 03:02:

Number one that'd be ironic considering that part of the Yankees problems is giving up on pitchers too early. I don't think Vasquez would be the same in NYC as he is in smaller Arizona.

I wish they would have traded for Hudson instead.

There's nothing the Yankees had that Beane would've given them Hudson for.

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-07-2005 03:17:

Damns, teams like the Royals and Brewers have been coming up with huge defensive plays against Yanks, like the catch of Jeter's shot to end the game.
So the losing continues, and they are 0 for 21 when scoring 3 runs or less... Now to have a .500 road trip, they'll need to win all the remaining games, including a sweep of the Cardinals

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-07-2005 03:18:

Man... Derrick Turnbow is awesome. If he could get his control a TAD better, he'd be an elite closer.

On a sadder note, the Yankees lose again. 8 out 9. Yikes. How quickly that 16 out of 18 is forgotten. And Randy stinks it up again...

True

I'm gonna jump on the San Diego bandwagon for awhile and see how that turns out.

The Mets take Witchita State RHP Michael Pelfrey with the #9 pick in the draft. He had an 11-2 record and a 1.47 ERA in 16 games with Wichita State this year. He struck out 121 batters in 117 innings, allowing 24 walks and 75 hits.

Pelfrey is a power pitcher with natural sink on his fastball that has been timed at 97 mph and usually is in the mid 90s. He also throws a changeup, one he has mastered in the last two years that can unsettle left-handed hitters.

The Yankees take Putnam City HS MIF C.J. Henry with the 17th pick in the draft. Baseball America ranked the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Henry as the second-best high school athlete in the draft, behind only Justin Upton, who was taken first overall by the Diamondbacks.

Henry, who turned 19 on May 31, was a two-sport star at Putnam City, excelling in both baseball and basketball. He hit .481 with 13 home runs, 41 RBIs, 52 runs scored and 21 stolen bases in his senior season while averaging 22 points per game for the hoops team.

Good pick by the Yanks (for all I know....). Sounds good.

Mets picked up Danny Graves today. Enjoy....

LOL danny graves' only action will be when the score is hopelessly out of hand... kinda like paul quantrill against the red sox

Posted by Member of X on Jun-07-2005 21:33:

Crankee Yankee Post:

Quantrill only throws one pitch, the meatball. Good thing we got him for $3 million. Milwaukee has the best bullpen and pays each guy like the minimum.

Pavano has 2 pitches, the straight meatball and the sinking meatball right in the middle of the plate. At least we got Douchebag.... err I mean Kevin Brown. I'm just worried about our defense when he pitches because the balls are so scorched they might take someone's head off.

Randy's slider doesn't slide at all. It just hangs there for someone to launch into the upper deck.

E Rod should be playing SS. He sucks at third. He still strikes out or pops out in meaningful situations. Keep padding your stats buddy when it doesn't matter (ie Seattle, Texas).

I just fell down from the wind gust generated by Juiceambi's wiff.

Bernie is D O N E!!!!!!!!!!!! done done done. See his grey hairs lately?

Jorgay is a DP waiting to happen.

Tino is old again......

Yeah. Sounds great for the Yankees.

I love the Pelfrey pick. I wanted Craig Hansen, but oh well. Hansen was picked by the Red Sox, so hopefully he will cause havoc amongst Yankee hitters for years to come.

I like the Graves signing too. I mean... 300,000 this year with a 500,000 buyout next year. Can't really go wrong.

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-08-2005 00:44:

Darn, Pedro had a no-hitter going into the 7th inning, but then gave up a home run
