I do around 33 lbs with one hand and around 61 lbs with two hands.
That goes for around 8 reps, full motion.

That's pretty good.
For someone who trains bodybuilding recreative, it's above average.
For someone who traing bodybuilding professionally, it's average.
I think.
My biceps are ~12.5''.

Well, I just workout for my well being, not into bodybuilding at all.

Same here.
Looks like I'll have to stop at current weight I do biceps with.
I don't want any bigger biceps, because they will look funny/weird on my 133 lbs, 5'9'' body.

I want to get down to around 190.

Posted by Floorfiller on Mar-07-2005 23:09:

arms are one of the body parts that respond really quickly for a lot of people...shit me and my friend stopped working arms for a long ass time because they grew that much quicker then the rest of the body...

Hehe. If so, you should set some limits.
16.5'' biceps for recreative fitness/bodybuilding is...
Well, over the limits if you ask me.
Though, if you're tall enough, it probably doesn't look too ripped.

(220 lbs. )

Yeah, what he said. My chest and other areas take longer to develop, but my arms are quicker. Maybe I should stick to a set weight, so my arms don't develop anymore?

I'm 5-10, believe me my arm's don't look "nasty," nothing like that dudes pic earlier in the thread. They aren't HUGE, I think they look nice.

True for me, but not for my friend.
My friend is 6'2'' and almost 200 lbs, and he trains with bigger weights then me at all the exercises except the ones for biceps.
Strange.

Posted by Floorfiller on Mar-07-2005 23:13:

my friend had about 16.5-17" arms and was about 208lbs with a height of probably like 5'10...

he ain't that big anymore though...

who cares what weight you lift as long as you look good...

Definately do that.
Well, that's what I'll do.
I'm completely happy with my body as it is now.
Thing is, I know I can do better and look better, so that's why I'll keep training.
So far only my biceps and quadriceps grew to desired size.
I want my abs, back, shoulders, calves, triceps and chest stronger. No matter they're good anyway.

(But I can do better, so, yeah.)

Well, he was fat in past, and still is a bit, but he improved a lot since he's going to gym.
His body structure is a lot stronger then mine, so that's why he can train with bigger weights than me.
But my muscles are more visible than his, and that's my advantage...

Well, that just proves your point.

Posted by Floorfiller on Mar-07-2005 23:19:

i think this would be interesting...given what you know about your own measurements now and your perception of what you want to look like...

what are your goal measurements?

Posted by Michael19 on Mar-07-2005 23:21:

Is dumbbell excercise better then barbell for growing? or is there a difference?

Oh.
Well, that's still not a small thing to lift.

Did you know Dorian Yates does dumbbell curls with 155 lbs?

Btw, I take Inkospor's whey proteins, 30 grams after each training.
I also take glucose via grape sugar, around 30-50 grams after each training.

U suck dude!! I'm too poor to buy supplements at the moment lol...If I started taking whey protein and nitro-tech I would be super huge in no time That dude is insane but he probably looks disgusting.

Posted by Emil on Mar-07-2005 23:25:

Does whey protein and all that stuff really make you bigger?

I don't really have goal measurements, I just know I wanna look fit, have defined and proportional muscles, but not too big, nice chest, abs and such.
Actually, if you look a bit better better...
Muscle size doesn't matter.
It can be semi-sized, but look good if it's nicely shaped and defined.
So measurements don't really matter as long as it looks good.

I don't really see big difference.
But I have a feeling barbell works better.

i don't think it makes you bigger...what makes you bigger is getting the proper amount of protein, carbs, and fat that your body needs...and well...protein supplements are a good way to try and reach those ratios...

well i agree with all of that...but i just mean lets say you are as lean as you want to be...look the way you want...how much farther you think you got to go before you look that way...

Got ya. The only supplements I take are multi vitamins and Glucomasine/Chondrotin. I take the glu/chon because I've lost 85% of the muscle in my left quad, long story, so I take it to help me.

What about creatine? Let's start a creatine debate. Good or waste of money?
