Wright named NL Player of the Month for June

Posted by GUBostonDubs on Jul-03-2006 20:54:

I feel bad for ozzie guillen or any manager that has to choose the all star lineups. I feel Schilling and Beckett got snubbed but it's tough when the manager has to take at least one player from every team which I don't agree with

Thumbs up

Wagner gets his 300th save on the 4th of July

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-05-2006 12:49:

how did Chacon and Small get so bad, after pitching so well last year?

Posted by Member of X on Jul-05-2006 13:28:

Yanks scored the 2nd fewest runs in the AL for the month of June!! Please tell me again that missing Sheff, Matsui, and Cano has no impact on the Yankees because they still have Giambi, Jeter, A Rod. Yanks were built as an offensive team, they weren't setup like the White Sox to have a wealth of starting pitching. Why were they built as a hitting ballclub? Because it's much easier to trade or sign a big name bat then it is to acquire a really good pitcher. That free agent class with Pavano, Jaret Wright, etc. has turned out to be quite miserable outside of Pedro really. We all knew they'd have to win 9-6 a lot of times. When you throw out Nick Green, Melky Cabrera, Miguel Cairo, and Andy Phillips....it really doesn't strike fear in the hearts of the opposing pitchers.

Chacon really didn't have a great track record previously, he repertoire isn't exactly overpowering. He relies on command and if you saw yesterday, he was all over the place.

Aaron Small was a minor league journeyman, 31 years old, who had really his sinker workinig for half a season. Once it failed and hitters adjusted to seeing him again, he was pounded. Sometimes you catch magic in a bottle.

Even with the depleted yanks roster mets cant hang. Mets are best team in Nl but 6th best in baseball. Bringing lima back up that will help, right.. Heard today 6 more weeks Matsui will be back for yanks.

YES LIMA TIME!

1-2 at yankee stadium with shitty pitching. i'll take it any time. bad pitching can make any scrub look good.

As we stand right now... there is a SMALL chance that we get to see Pelfrey pitch on Friday!

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-06-2006 02:12:

How about that - Devil Rays win 3 straight against the Red Sox, beating both Beckett and Schilling in the process
They have a chance for a 4-game sweep tomorrow

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-06-2006 21:59:

Pedro placed on DL - good thing the Mets have the lead that they have, and that the All-Star Break is coming up
Pelfrey called up and will pitch in the doubleheader on Saturday

Posted by Shamez214 on Jul-06-2006 22:36:

Ugh. We get Lima Time tomorrow.

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-07-2006 00:29:

Henry Owens has also been called up

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-08-2006 13:57:

Lima Time = Garbage Time , once again
Gave up a grand slam to the D-Train
Oliver has been great in long relief
Owens pitched a scoreless inning in his debut

Reyes got hurt, might miss the All-Star Game
When will he learn not to slide (especially head-first) into first base?

Good showing the 1st round of the Home Run Derby by D-Wright, with 16 dingers
3rd most ever for a single round

Posted by Member of X on Jul-11-2006 01:20:

I'll trade ya May Rod for D Right?

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-11-2006 02:43:

Wright makes it to the finals, but comes up short against Howard, who had impressive rallies in both the 1st and 2nd rounds to just get to the finals

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-12-2006 02:07:

the hits keep coming for D-Wright!
homers in his first All-Star Game at-bat!

Beltran scores the second run for the NL

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-12-2006 03:19:

AL wins again, 3-2
Mets provided all the offense, so it was really: AL 3, Mets 2

f'ing Trevor Hoffman
gave up 3 straight hits, all with 2 outs, and was 1 strike away from ending it

with this silly rule, at this rate, seems like there will never be an NL team with home-field in the World Series

well, if the Mets make the World Series, let's hope they win it in 4 or 5 games, so it happens at Shea

Mets suck!

Greatest closer ever for the save. National League proves again and again they are a bunch of little sissy boys.
