he can't get his fastball over the plate consistently. He always behind in the count and that's never good. MLB players aren't fooled by a 2-0 fastball right down the pipe, regardless of the speed.

He has only been a Yankee for just over a year. I don't think he is the guy you want to take over the closer role. Great stuff but he seems to crack. The only time he was decent at saving games was in Atlanta. Overall he has 26 Saves and 26 Blown Saves.

as for beckett, he's going to slide. While he looks good, he still hasn't faced any real offensive teams besides the yankees(where he was ok, not spectacular). I mean, seattle, KC, Bal, Oak, and LA. That's not exactly the cream of the crop as far as offensive powers. Before i say that beckett is hitting his stride, i would wait until he pitches against cleveland, detroit, texas (when they decide to start hitting), and the yankees again. After he gets rattled, i think he'll lose his stride again. The one thing he does have going for him is that he actually pitched a whole season last year. Maybe his arm is getting stronger. Who knows. i would just wait before you anoint him the savor.

you can add Toronto to that list as well as the best start for a Boston pitcher since 1946. 7 starts, 7 wins. No muss, no fuss.

how old is he? is he 'trainable'? or is he about done? how long was he in ATL?

that's more impressive! One run right?? That's the kinda win you can start getting happy about. Toronto has a good lineup, although they haven't consistently acted like they do.

31, probably not trainable, but also probably not done, 1/2 year.

His problem is consistency. He isn't consistent on a daily level, weekly level, or even yearly level. His ERA is very erratic from year to year. This guy will look brilliant one day, and give up tons of hits the next day. He always has trouble getting the ball over the plate. And im pretty sure he is afraid to throw the fast ball when he NEEDS to.

it WOULD be ideal to bring Clemens out for the first game with the Red Soxs just for shits and giggles though...like TADA!!! haahha

its better that Hughes remain on the DL till he is fully healed. we don't need him to further aggravate his injury, hes young right now let him heal fully so that he can be at peak performance once he DOES come back -- in time for the championships ahha.

well of cousre he will be fine before then, im JUST SAYING!!! hmm well i certainly WOULDNT mind if he was pitching JUNE 16 cuz im going to that game...YAY

haha awesome.

well i was actaully looking for stats and history but i could look that up myself. eheh. im more curious about the METS stats since im not following them right now as much...even tho they are in a top spot (are they still first place right now tho?)

not that i favor them but they ARE essential for a subway world series. the yanks will win tho overall. hehe

laughable

byaaaaaaaah!

Posted by jerZ07002 on May-15-2007 17:18:

As for predictions, over all six mets/bosox games, we'll win 3 of the 6. Im not willing to predict which series we'll win, but i think going .500 over the two series is a rational prediction.
