A refreshing sound in the world of psy-trance. Honestly haven't like psy since early 00's...got too samey with everyone copying the production techniques. I'd liked to know the record that started the psy-bassline template.

Real trance:

Humate - Love stimulation (Paul van dyk remix)
LSG - Netherworld (Jules Verne mix)
The digital blonde - Hydro

So just happened to start reading the thread for the first time, and too bad like 50% of the tracks posted are deleted youtube videos.
Would be nice at least to write down the name of the tracks.

Posted by Trance-M on Oct-16-2014 20:23:

Suncatcher and Mihai M pres Starshifters - Phobia (original mix)

Posted by Syntonic on Oct-28-2014 04:21:

Thought this was G&M Project at first.

Sounds really good at 130+BPM

Of course, it's from Lisa, she not only can make beautiful vids, but also has good taste in uplifting

It sure is a good taste indeed, nice proper trance!

Also, started to share some older sets myself these days, might appeal to this thread and some people here

Quality track So much better than 99% of the tracks being labeled and released as 'Trance' these days

Posted by rubez on Oct-30-2014 12:55:

the last few examples were not real trance - they aren't even good tracks, trance or otherwise, they are trash i'm afraid, they are the exact opposite of what this thread was supposed to be about

allow me to get you back on track

Maybe you should add EARLY the the thread title otherwise I'll just keep posting those nice trance tracks fitting the current thread title.
Re-read your reply, I can't imagine you're serious.

Was actually thinking the same If you call this 'not good tracks/trash' than what would you call the stuff that dominates the 'Trance' charts these days?

And his BT - Blue Skies example is nice, just a bit more oldschool earlier trance sound from the 90's

Posted by Innocence Lost on Oct-30-2014 16:26:

Rubes has a point, hardly anything today is considered the real thing.

Anyway i like the original better.

Well, let's say a significant part of it otherwise it looks like we like all current stuff, which at least for me is definitely not the case

Posted by rubez on Oct-30-2014 18:02:

the stuff that dominates the charts today is utter guff.

this is the last good trance tune i've heard. 2012 i think. it has class - something todays trance fatally lacks.

problem is, anything decent like this doesn't fit in with the rest of the tracks made today, it's like a self fulfilling prophecy of shite music - you need to conform to the sound of the day to be relevant in the scene, and that sound unfortunately sucks ass.

Posted by Innocence Lost on Oct-30-2014 18:09:

Yeah that Rnx guise is still coming with good releases.

Did such tracks ever dominate the charts then?

I did enjoy Airwave's set on the radio yesterday evening, but I don't play such tracks as it's too relaxed, doesn't mean I don't like them.

I am actually totally with you matey, most tracks I hear these days just isn't worth the name 'Trance'

More than 95% of the tracks I come across when checking for new tracks and releases just isn't worth mentioning, this includes the majority that dominates the charts. It's not disrespect, there's simply no musical quality within these tracks compared to what we would call 'the real thing'. And the argument used is always that the genre is evolving, when its actually quite the exact opposite if I compare todays mainstream sound to what was the standard 8-10 years ago (on a musical level). That's also why the majority of actual quality trancers have been totally overlooked all these years.

But how would you define something as 'the real thing'??? Musical taste is always so personal, everyone has its own view on that I think... Biggest problem today though is that too much music is being called 'Trance' when its just not

Difficult to describe, I posted my some of my still favorite tracks of long ago at the second page. Nowadays I'm mainly focused at uplifting, and the good uplifting ones I still consider to be real trance, as I would have considered it in 1994 when I started listening trance.

This is my current favorite, awesome change from beautiful and small to uplifting and synths combined with a piano:
