Yup it was horrible ( or still is?)
everyone going into downtown were diverted to the 395 westbound......

Well that explains why no cabs coming from usual direction to drop people off at SPACE..(where I usually go to try for cab after Ultra I was so lucky to find 4 others nice enuf to let me ride back with them to the beach.

It's just going to get worse...the traffic situation...the metro should develop some sort of shuttle system/special bus lines for this event...

i took the bus around 4 from the beach, took until 5:45 to get to omni station...traffic was insane. only stayed at ultra for Faithless and then left b/c I was entirely too exhausted and the death cold I seem to always get when I arrive in Miami took full hold of my sinuses and lungs. In retrospect, had I realize how much people were selling tickets for, I would have sold mine and stood outside the gate to hear faithless haha.
I've never heard of Ultra selling out...the lineups this year were the worst i've seen in the 4 years I've gone too. It was worth the money for me to see Faithless for an hour just b/c I'm that insane about them and they hardly ever come to the states.
I'm very glad I left when I did seeing how bad traffic was coming back to the beach...i can imagine a few hours later how much worse it was.
Even my cab driver commented this was the worst year for him as far as being overworked. Seemed to notice a lot less cabs than in years past just about everywhere on the beach and downtown. And a lot of the drivers were refusing people.

Sadly, there are no better locations nearby, and Location it's kinda key, in advantage for most people, but now that I think about it, most people going to Ultra aren't coming from SoBe anymore so, who knows.

Couldn't believe it sold out either. My girl had a ticket, I didn't. I panicked for almost an hour, watched people pay $325 and $300 for them. I finally got one for $190. It was crazy packed inside but I had no problem seeing who I wanted and getting to where I wanted. I thought the production was much better than previous years (exit for the EXIT).

We stayed until the end because we wanted to see Ghostland Observatory and that resulted in us waiting for the bus for 2+ hours. We left Ultra at midnight, got home at 230. Crazy, but worth it for Orbital/Faithless alone.

faithless I keep watching my videos over and over again. Love me some maxi and blissy certainly hope he keeps his word and comes back again and see some additional faithless action at other parties... Very sadly missed at wmc every year. If Pvd can still sell out two notes at space, faithless or just sister bliss could def hang for a club night.

yeah I was blown away by Faithless. I wasn't even thinking about seeing them but my girl wanted to. I've never been a big fan but wow their live show was fantastic. The rush to the stage during Insomnia was pretty crazy.

best thing about ultra... that heineken dome with fucking ac!!!!!!!! ac + a place where the kiddies couldnt go = HEAVEN! worst thing... all the fucking kids running around. ultra really has become a kiddie carnival full of nothing but high school freshman who are rolling for the first time. never again. the little hill in front of the big dome was the worlds biggest cuddle puddle ive ever seen. cant believe how much more packed friday was than saturday. music was pretty shitty friday but got awesome saturday. sets are still watered down though. for example gareth destroyed nocturnal but played too soft at ultra. biggest surprise... jerome isma-ae... wow... kids got some skills. finally caught kryoman... pretty awesome to see that live. cox tent was awesome but it didnt live up to the hype everyone made it out to be. yea they got lasers but they are still cheap.

i really have a problem with how people were climbing up the rigging's that were holding the tents up and shit. especially in the umf ibiza/brazil arena. it took security over 3 hours to do anything about it. and by the time they got everyone down people were right back up. horrible. for sat they put some wood around it but people were still climbing. i also saw people climbing the huge dome. where the fuck is the security???

in short... if you dont know any better its fucking awesome. but when youve been around the block a few times its just painful to be there. it was crazy to see how ultra has changed over the years though. i made a wise decision 6 years ago to never go again. dunno why i changed my mind this year but i should of stuck with it. i still managed to have a good time but never again.

ya, what was with all the little kids this year? i thought you needed to be 18+ to get in unless you had a parent?

that was *probably* my last ultra. just too expensive...almost $200 on parking and ticket for saturday alone...i had fun and all...but not $200 fun.

we'll see how next year's lineup looks and what not. but i think i'll try and do trance energy instead...or probably spend my money on a couple of yacht parties instead...

It was nice heading over to Orbital because up in the front it was all an older, chill crowd.

I never really have a problem with Ultra and the kandi kids make me laugh (especially when you are on one of those little golf carts zooming around through the crowds and fucking with them as you drive by)... but I also have the option of hiding backstage when they start to annoy me. I'll be honest, if I didn't have that option I probably wouldn't like it very much either.
