i'm enjoying the surge of jeff teague into the spotlight. this guy was dwelling off the bench the whole year behind bibby and hinrich.

I knew I would regret making that statement. What a performance by the Hawks in the 4th.

Tom Thibodeau's voice will simply not make it past the 2nd quarter of Game 5 - even Stan Van Gundy is worried.

i am officially a jeff teague fan.

I think we can all agree on one thing - these NBA playoffs have been pretty unpredictable.

Posted by Renzo on May-09-2011 03:20:

Also, the Mavs sweeping LA without their second best scorer, Caron Butler, is pretty damn impressive.

To be fair, Jason Terry doesn't belong coming off the bench. He would be a starter on almost every team in the NBA. He's definitely one of the best bench players in the league. It's not surprising for him to go for 20+ a night, because he is actually that good.

Posted by Renzo on May-09-2011 04:08:

The problem with Jason Terry is while he was lights out today, he could very easily go 2-8 from the floor next game.

When he's hot, he's a force, but he can be inconsistent.

I guess that's why he comes off the bench

Also, I just saw this on nba.com, how exactly do they determine what a "clutch" shot is?

82.5% : Dirk Nowitzki's true shooting percentage in clutch situations in the playoffs thus far.

No clue. I'd assume being down a basket or something with under 30 seconds left.

Wacky stat.

He would be a starter on teams like Wizards, Cavs, etc. Get what I mean?

There is a reason why people in Dallas hate Terry. He's a mental midget and extremely one dimensional. Plays no defense and undersized for his position. The reason why he went off on this series is because Dallas moved the ball beautifully and LA got shredded with their perimeter defense. Did you see how many WIDE FUCKING OPEN 3's they had?? They are NBA playes. They will make them all day if they are left that wide open. Put someone like Tony Allen on Terry and he will be a complete non factor.

I think a Mavs/Heat rematch is in the making. Dirk will go off on Memphis. Dirk will have to play some defense against Gasol though but Dirk will slow them down and drag them out of the paint. And Thunder have no match for him either. They can easily put Marion, Stevenson, or Brewer on Durant to slow him down and play one on one. No worries with Westbrick either. Inexperience will be the death of them. If Dallas keep executing their zone with the best defensive big in the league (Chandler), then they have an easy path to the Finals.

And if it is Dallas/Miami in the finals, who are the Heat going to have guard Dirk? Bosh? Anthony?

Bosh guarding Dirk is like having Stephen Hawking try to stop Patrick Willis.

Hey Kevin, what do you think Boston should do with the big 3 after this season?

good question. I honestly don't know. I think they could stay if they got 1 or 2 more serious upgrades. Dump both O'Neals, Delonte "I banged Lebron's mom" West, dump that circus freak Krstic, dump Carlos Arroyo, keep big baby, keep Jeff Green. Get a couple good backup role players and a major presence in the paint (come back Perkins!) and I think the big 3 could hack it one more year. Only problem is that they don't have a lot of trade value with the garbage on their bench.

Posted by srussell0018 on May-10-2011 03:52:

If you had to or wanted to trade one of the big 3, who would it be? I think that would be the only worthwhile option.

Posted by Renzo on May-10-2011 04:36:

Huge shot by Conley.

Wow.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-10-2011 04:40:

well we certainly know the downfall of the franchise is westbrook. the guy loves to chuck shots like there's no tomorrow.
