The lights on the VU-meters don't work, i need to open to Vestax and check out what is wrong... maybe only a fuse that is broken.
Do your lights work? |
Am i right in seeing that each and every record you own is individually protected by plastic sleeves?
wow... nice set up btw..

Almost Every record in my collection is indeed protected by plastic outer sleeves; I find it very important to care about my black gold
They just have to be served and protected well...
I think about 600 records have the plastic sleeves...
thx for the compliment

nope.
Couldnt find a way to remove the meters to replace them either.....so ive rigged up some UV leds inside connected to a 9v battery with a switch. makes the needles and markers glow purple.
Except i left it switched on for a month and the 9v has gone flat.... doh. Need to replace it.

Hey guys, those Vu meters, do they work one for each channel of the xfader (ie one for left side, one for right) or is it just stereo out?
Posted by Freak on Jun-06-2006 13:09:
master out
the led meter underneath (the option meter) works on whatever you have cue switched to

nothing is hotter than CDJ-1000s
(see pic above)
i *hate* my CDJ-800 Mk1s for being so boring... dull gret, no bright lights... no metal buttons...

i loved that thing, the only thing i hated were the 100 mm faders...
the fact that i couldn't find the rotary option nowhere was the reason to sell it and buy my current Vestax PMC-46 MKII

The DJM-400 cost me 469 on agiprodj.com. It's the best I've found from an authorized dealer. The 400 is awesome. I know I'm not gonna need more than 2 channels in the next 5 years at least for the bedroom djing I'm doing (an maybe the ocational house party. That said, it is jam packed with features. The kills on the eqs are rock solid. The overall layout is really easy to use. The right side is the effects area which houses 7 built in effects that are supposedly the same quality as pionner efx machines. Additionally, the effects are automatically synched with the channel you set it to, so the 16 beat flanger is synched at 128 or 140 bpm or anything else. Really neat. When I was looking at mixers (keep in mind I'm a first timer here) I was looking for somthing just above the "basic" 3 eq mixers on the market. The 400, at 469, gave me a mixer that is a great basic mixer with EXTRAS that let me do more and have a little extra fun. Oh, an I havent even started to mess with the in-loop sampler which is another plus for remixes on the fly.
I'm totally happy with it!
Hope that helps.

lol, thats what I thought...I have a Xone 32 but only 2 CDJs...after about 9 months of mixing, I already want a third...just gives you more options...especially nice when tagging with someone else...

see.... thats my dilema
i want a new mixer and cant decide btw the xone 32 and the ecler nuo2
xone has
3 channels (wont need that, only have 2 CDJs)
filters (never used them, but have heard nothing but good things)
elcer has
kills on the eqs (i want this)
only two channels (all i need)
and its cheaper
for a bedroom DJ with little experience - are the filters really worth it?

Unless you think your going to use a third CDJ you really don't need any more than two or three channels and there are less expensive 3 channel mixers than the X:One 32, for the price you pay for that your just as well getting a DJM 500 or 600 (Which have come down in price) or an Ecler Nuo 4.....i've heard the X:One 32 is a great mixer, but it depends on how much you really think you want to spend on a three channel mixer...i've heard great things about the Ecler Nuo 3, which is around $450 to $500, and I own a Vestax PCV 275 (which is discontinued but you could find one now for like $150 or $199 used, i paid like $320 for a new one), i've had it for a little over two years with no problems. Though my split cue doesn't seem to work as well anymore, but it may be because my headphones are crap....and I need some more powerful ones.

Shall we make an international PMC-46 Club?
Somebody got the MKI ?
I know a place here in belgium where they sell the MKI, buth it's rotary's were crappy, they make the sound crackle...
So you have got to change all rotary faders...
(somebody register www.pmc46.com
)

how do you like the efx1000? im thinking of getting one.
Posted by Mimoza on Jun-09-2006 22:39:
That's a massive set!!
It's only a shame the efx-1000 is on the right-handed turntable...
Is dj-gear expensive in poland?
How is the DJM-1000?
Posted by mito on Jun-09-2006 22:42:
efx1000 is not an easy toy : ) it takes a lot of time to practice
the price in poland is very similar to german ( I think it is even the same) sorry for my english DJM1000 for me is the best mixer I ever have. I use to have djm300 then djm600 and then xone32 (only nice sound, nothing else). Finally I bought djm1000 and I don't think about any other mixer now
