Originally posted by Cosmic Fur Of course good music is just a perception, there's no absolute way to measure the goodness of music. And yeah, they definitely make music better. Me and Mona would blaze a lot and just listen to music in the car while we were high, and I can tell you the emotions and feelings and just plain goosebumps the songs stirred in me I'd never get when I listened to the exact same songs when I was sober. It's something you can't really understand till you experience it first hand. Speaking of which, alcohol just makes me more jumpy and more willing to dance, but it has no effect on my appreciation of music (i.e. everything sounds the same as it does when I'm sober). Weed or E on the other hand pushes your enjoyment of music to such a limit that you feel like if you don't dance to this, right now, you're going to explode from the enjoyment of it. This alone makes alcohol a much more inferior drug to weed imo.

Originally posted by geroin I'm gathering it from my own experience and from what I've seen. It is obviously an assumption and not a fact but me you and the rest of the people on here know for fact that not everyone parties for the love of the music. To prove my point, go to guv/the drink/gallery on any given saturday and ask 10 sketchy people who the dj is, i'd say 6/10 would tell you they don't know. Hell 80% of the guv are asian people and most of them don't even care what music is being pounded in those speakers as long as it is.

Can you add a +500 choice?

Originally posted by geroin That is fine, i respect your opinion but i obviously have a different view on this. I disagree with you also. If for example you go to a regular pub on a friday night do you see people chilling out by themselves minding their own business? It is actually absolute opposite, everyone is chatting and almost everyone is friendly. Even if you're by yourself and go by the bar to get a beer you will most likely end up striking up a conversation with somebody. While in any afterhours club a lot of people actually HATE communicating or talking to people while they are experiencing a high. Lots of people want to be left alone and dance their night away by themselves, many are even rude from my experience. I'm pretty much always friendly when i'm at a club, doesn't matter either its top 40, guv or til I will always say hi and chat for a bit if I know who you are..

Originally posted by The Highroller Different intoxicants have different affects on people. MDMA makes you empathetic, lovey, chatty, helps you accept people, etc. Cocaine makes you chatty, aggressive, horny, etc. The two have very different affects on a person since one deals with dopamine, and the other deals with seretonin. If there is a party where the majority of people are on MDMA, and another party where the majority of people are on Cocaine, people are going to act differently and interact with each other differently. Therefore, the parties are going to have different vibes. Here's a hypothetical question: do you think a party where everyone is drunk, and a party where everyone is stone cold sober is going to have the same vibe/atmopshere?

Originally posted by Jeff Button I was completely with you G, until that last part. Comparing a drunk to a saint, and a cokehead to a pill popper is completely pointless (and not even close to what your original argument was trying to get across).

Originally posted by Jeff Button I also know people who call other people sketchbags and when nobody is looking they pop a pill themselves, to avoid being called a sketchbag themselves. ![]()

I should add I kind of find it frightening that the number of people who have done over 200 pills is almost as big as the number who have done under 50.
Although that's also comforting cause it's basically proof that even after doing over 200 pills you can still be functioning well.
