Horse With No Name is a bomb. I always thought it would sound great in a 13-minute epic house remix by someone on Stress Records circa 1996.

I know I haven't checked out many of these in a while, but decided to give this one a go for totally random reasons that I can't remember two hours after the fact.

It was a fun mix to listen to, even if some of the tracks seemed like they were placed in for no reason other than you wanted to throw 'em in, but couldn't figure out where to place 'em. Despite being a little disjointed, good overall variety. Never heard that instrumental of Right In The Night before!

hmm i don't know, the whole placing tracks just i wanted to play them, i know the one thing is that this is a 2hour set shorted down to 80 minutes and i was boiling it down to the essentials, cutting some of the tracks and segues you need to take to get there in a more natural ways. but, i think it didn't sound so disjointed, every track has it's place and link with the previous or the next track.


i'm surprised you haven't heard the instrumental of right in the night, especially as a fellow euro and trance aficionado. it's a beauty

Truthfully, I always assumed Follow Me was the instrumental.

It's mostly the Scorpio - What'll I Do - Follow The Leader segment that felt disjointed, mainly because having a single 'rock' song right in the middle of everything else came out of nowhere, and didn't lead to something similar in the process. But eh, that's mixtapes for ya'.

nah, 'follow me!' is the 'underground'/club track

jam & spoon did this, like most acts that was trying to win both charts and clubs, to have a 'poppy' a-side* and a club track on the b-side.

*to be fair, the only poppy about 'right in the night' is the part that is driven by plavka, the extended mix fleshes the track out more and also shows how 'right in the night' and 'follow me!' are connected



about what'll i do. that was intentional, i was constructing the set with tension and release in mind also, and once you build up, you can't just have epic, you have to take it down again.

Where's December's mix?

There isn't one. I was busy and didn't have chance to ask anyone a fair time in advance, but I wanted to see how long before anyone noticed. Fifteen days is the answer. I might bring it back in the new year, but for now this game is on hiatus.

Not much of a game imo.

There's nothing to stop anyone making a mix of old tracks, ever.

I didn't stop the game because I couldn't find anyone or because I didn't trust anyone. I stopped it because it was increasingly hard to organise at a time when my life got increasingly busy and there seemed to be less replies and less interest each consecutive month, despite everything I tried.

bring it back system. if people want to make them, and a couple want to listen...shazam.

you should just pick 3 people that haven't done it yet and post them up all at once for the months missing.
