They probably had legal issues with the sampling, and had to go back and change the lead. I'm sure there's a rip out there somewhere of the first version; if not, I've got one and can host it for you. I think it's much, much better, and really disappointed that it didn't end up on the release, which is really inferior by comparison.

I kicked myself for not fronting the money when it first appeared on dancerecords.com a few months back, and suspected I would never see it again on this side of the Atlantic. I usually don't have much money to spend on records, and $35 seemed steep for my budget at the time.

I happened to have some cash last week, and decided to browse a little. It was just my luck that the Cafe del Mar 4x12" had been restocked, so I ordered it immediately. They sold out the very next day.

The synths sound a little dated now, but the tropical guitar riff is as fresh as ever. It was hot in 2000; I first heard it in PvD's Mayday set from the same year, and had't forgot it since. Infernal Machine - Realistic
yes, that guitar riff, is (like you say) fresh as a daisy, great tune imo
fits well in a pumping trance set, also when pitched right down it fits nicely into a prog trance set, and its a very versatile record
and never seen the point of pvd signing it to vandit....though i picked my version on sadie records, after digging deep in a record store and picking it up for �2!
