Heaps of suspense, action and violence.

Massive cast with Jack, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, Mark Walberg, Matt Damon and Di Caprio.

Has anyone else seen this?

Seen it and loved it. Pretty graphic at times. But 100 times better than Superman.

ahahaha, got love these quotes, here's more:

"Killian, here's your Subzero, now plain zero"

[after strangling Sub-Zero with barbed wire)] "What a pain in the neck"

[after Richards cut Buzzsaw in half with a chain saw] "He had to split"

lol ...

Am keen to see The Departed, what a great cast of actors in one film.

I recently just saw Cinderella Man (with Russell Crowe) on dvd, wow what a movie + its based on a true story.

Posted by Deeman on Nov-20-2006 22:28:

Cinderella Man was a well made film, really enjoyed it too. The fight scenes were quite brutal and made you feel like you were in the ring.

Posted by MiSSyM on Nov-21-2006 00:59:

Yeah at the start it was dragging a bit, but then I got really into it. It got a bit teary too. LOL hahahaha

At some bits I couldnt even watch, I didnt know what the ending would be.

Posted by jc on Nov-21-2006 01:23:

I watched 'A History of Violence' last night and I can honestly say that it has to be one of the worst films I have seen in a long time! I couldnt even finish watching it. Poor acting, poor story line, poor everything.

crapola!

I watched three movies yesterday...

My Super Ex-girlfriend
- Uma Thurman stars as the super heroine with a dark side. Bad attempt at humour, though there were some good moments (like the shark scene). Anna Faris (Scary Movie) is a babe. -- 1/5

Click
- I originally saw this on a plane once but was feeling for some real humour after MSEG. Adam Sanders does not fail to deliver with his usual comedic style, and the supporting cast is great incl. Christopher Walkin, David Hasselhoff, Henry Winkler, Sean Astin & MILF of the year Kate Beckinsale. Really strong theme around family too which is great. -- 5/5

Superman Returns
- Overrated. Some great visual sequences and overall well done, but Lois and Clarke lacked chemistry. Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther was better than I expected. Shithouse ending. 2/5

i recently watched Beyond Borders -with Angelina Jolie & Clive Owen.
Its really sad, but a good movie.

WATCH IT!

Posted by Deeman on Dec-01-2006 06:01:

I just saw Jarhead last night on DVD. I don't really rate it much as most of it was pretty boring.

After that though, i watched V for Vendetta, that was MAD!

Posted by MiSSyM on Dec-01-2006 06:11:

I still haven't seen V for Vendetta, I LOVE Natalie Portman, one of my fave actress'!

hey Deeman next time you go to rent a dvd ask for the movie 'Palindromes'.

Posted by Deeman on Dec-01-2006 06:20:

Palindromes

Cool done, i'll check that one out soon, thanks Missy.

Natalie Portman is absolutely stunning, I love this girl..!

Posted by Fpcookie on Dec-01-2006 11:29:

/agree, V for Vendetta is a pretty good movie.

Children of Men is pretty good as well with Clive Owen.

I thought The Departed was insanely good, one of the best movies ive ever seen! If you like the Resevoir Dogs esque dynamic suspence kind of movies you will love The Departed.

i watched borat the other night, ver nice! lol

i saw departed too, i liked it, dunno about the ending though hehe

I watched The Devil Wears Prada yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed it, mainly because it's more than what it appears to be. On face value it's a "chick flick" about a naive young woman that goes to New York and lands a job for a large fashion publishing firm. She soon learns that there's more to her job than originally thought.

Her lack of fashion sense makes for some fun quotes.

Peel back a layer and then we're served a commentary about what fashion means to those in the upper echelons of the industry and how everyone, whether active participant or not, is somehow influenced by it.

Then there's the whole sub theme for which the movie gets its title - selling one's soul and the trade off that we may be willing to make in order to advance in career, life, and wardrobe.

Meryl Streep delivers a brilliant performance as the big boss, an Anne Hathaway as naive young Andy Sachs is delectable.

The soundtrack is also rockin' - featuring U2, Madonna, Jamiroquai, and Moby to name a few.

I give it 3 Pradas and 2 Guccis.

If you liked The Departed watch the Infernal Affairs trilogy, the movies that inspired it. They are filmed in Hong Kong and stars Andy Lau and Tony Leung who are pretty good actors in their own right. The first two parts are good (number 1 being the standout) while number 3 is too hard to follow sometimes and is a bit over the top.

Anyway if you dont mind reading subtitles (or can speak cantonese) then check out Infernal Affairs cos they are definately worth watching!

not the first time you've uttered that i'll wager...

Daria: is it college yet?

our brilliant heroine returns with her final installment in this brilliant brilliant series. all our favourite characters return in this movie-length finale and its the same old daria goodness as usual. sarcastic truthful observsations at their best. any daria fans should buy the 2 movies on DVD (amazon.ca is your friend) so mtv will be motivated to release the entire series. slack fucks.

5 cutting remarks out of 5.

yeah! make quinn cry you nasty bitch

James Bond - Casino Royale was fantastic!

I love the new (or should I say old?) Bond. He's so much more of a working class guy and so much cooler. Much closer to the real Bond in the books.

His attitude is great, so arrogant with a massive ego (though I guess that's how he's supposed to be in the first movie). A perfect example is in the beginning when the burnt black guy throws the gun at him and he throws it right back at him. Haha, classic.

Also the torture scene, though don't I won't say too much so as to spoil it.

Great story with a few plot twists.

The locations are amazing, the action sequences are long and very well done, the car is beautiful. Everything you expect from a Bond flick. No gadgets this time but the first movie isn't supposed to have any.

I got a little bit lost a couple of times during the movie and had to really think about what was going on, but that's about the only complaint.

Definite must see. Probably the best movie out this year.

4.5 stars out of 5
