Yeah... I was just joking. Nice game by RJ. I'd wait to see if he can do it 2 or 3 more times before saying he's back.

Posted by partyhopper on Jun-11-2005 23:10:

we're still yet to see a double-digit strikeout game by RJ

on the Mets side, in last night's game, Ishii had as many K's (9) in 6 innings as Pedro had after 8 last Tuesday (and more than RJ's 7 today), before his collapse
And at last, Danny Graves has signed with the Mets. Let's hope he will be able to help. Then again, pretty much anything is an improvement over the bullpen situation

new stadium for the mets in 2009!

Yankees suck!

Guys talking on Baseball Tonight that if they don't recover from this next long homestand then they need to start offloading the geyzers and start building towards the future and next year. I agree. They just look too listless and inconsistent for me to have much confidence.

I'd love to see an influx of younger talent...

Well, I got 4 games in 7 days to see all this.

Yankees will also have their new stadium in 2009

Hot damn, walk-off upper deck home run by Giambi
Looks like he still has some sign of life
Saves A-Rod from his baserunning mistake in the previous inning
Yanks finally win a game when trailing after 8 innings

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-16-2005 03:33:

Why do the Mets make ahabit of making mediocre pitchers look like Satchel Paige out there?

Posted by Vlad on Jun-16-2005 03:37:

Hey Tino might be a geezer, but hes one major key to the Yanks success, plus Giambi's defensive ability at 1st base is at most... AAA worthy.

Bernie might be old as well, but hes clutch at DH, very smart hitter, and probably the most clutch hitter in the playoffs.

yeah...i was at the game

Posted by Member of X on Jun-16-2005 04:35:

Me too... I am still shocked Juiceambi blasted that one in the upper deck. He really juiced that one out of here. I also just got RF bleacher seats for Randy Johnson vs. Oliver Perez tomorrow night for free from my friend. Plus, I got Friday/Saturday against the Cubbies. I'm really looking forward to the Cubs games. 4 games in a row, I'm a little loco.

Friday it's Carlos Zambrano vs. Pavano. I was really hoping to see Zambrano.

Soriano is on freaking fire. I still really like him. 1 HR and 2 doubles tonight. He's got 18 HR's already this year, 2nd in the majors behind E Rod.

Tino had a great 2 weeks. He's been TERRIBLE since then. He's a key to no one's success. The key to the Yankees success is Randy Johnson.

I've always liked Soriano - he was my ideal 2nd baseman. Well the Yanks are off on the running now so I guess like every ballclub, we need to sit back and see how things ride out!

The ideal 2B is Roberto Alomar circa '99.

You mean right before he was with the Mets?

I'll take Ryne Sandberg. Great defensively with a lot of pop. I won't take Pornstache, Jeff Kent. He's good but I just never liked him.

It was part of my 16 game season ticket package. Sec 19, row B which is first base side almost on the edge of the overhang. Nothing spectacular. I also got the 7 games, $5 each tickets. Plus, my buddy sold me a pair of RF bleacher seats, Sec 39, to 15 games. I'm going there tonight but he gave me these ones.

I wanted to see the Big Unit throwing 99mph. I've been waiting for that.

My ideal SS is Cal Ripken. My ideal first is Don Mattingly. My ideal catcher is Ivan Rodriguez. My ideal third is Mike Schmidt. I need to think about my OF but Griffey is in there if you consider him healthy.

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-16-2005 19:59:

CF Ty Cobb
2B Rogers Hornsby
LF Ted Williams
RF Babe Ruth
1B Jimmie Foxx
SS Alex Rodriguez
3B Mike Schmidt
C Mike Piazza
P Pedro Martinez

That would be my line-up if I could create it. Obviously, all players in their prime.

you'd take pedro over sandy koufax?? you on crack boy??

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Jun-16-2005 20:08:

I got RF bleachers as well but my next is july 10th

my ideal first is donnie, my ideal 2nd baseman is pete rose, short stop would be cal ripken, Babe and Cobb definitely in the outfield, still thinking about CF and 3B. behind the square i'd plop down i-rod(lols)

I was thinking only guys I've seen play either on TV or in person. Are we including any steroid guys because Bonds would be in LF for sure? And I'm talking when healthy all healthy.

C Rodriguez
1b Mattingly
2b Sandberg
SS Ripken
3b Schmidt
LF Bonds
CF Griffey Jr.
RF Gwynn

I need more speed in there but my defense is on lockdown! NO A ROD!!

LP Randy Johnson
RP Roger Clemens
Re Mariano Rivera

take out ripken (who is overrated by the way and put in ozzie smith )

I thought about that actually but Ripken at least set the precedent for the big SS. His offensive numbers were never that great but he was always there. Ozzie is better defense but the ideal is a big SS who can hit for some pop and field at the same time. I don't need HR's when it's 10-3 so I don't choose Pay Rod.

I changed my mind, it's now Miguel Tejada. Insert him, I need a guy that's gonna inspire the others.

finally, Mets are actually hitting!
At last, Beltran got hit first home run in a non-Pedro game!
let's hope they hold on to their 5-3 lead over the A's
