I forget how many years, but Missisauga boomed from 200,000 to over 600,000 in a short period of time. We don't have any major social issues and things seem to be running well (my only problem is transit sucks, but her goal is to focus on transit this term). If the city is running fine after such a population gain, then she must of done something right. Plus this is her 11th term as mayor...obviously she's done something right! |

hazel is ok
i was actually thinking of going to vote for her...
after i saw the results on TV hazel won by something like 90% of the votes so im glad i didnt go, she doesnt need my support hehe
yes, she has kept us out of debt..
but only cause she doesnt spend any money on anything but lawyer fees for drunk driving and hockey arenas.
our transit blows ass and the city is somewhat of a mess. appt's going up around sq1 like its going out of style. shes in her late 80's. We need someone new..we needed someone new long ago.
the city had so much potential and she blew it imo.
So do any of us Sauga folk actually go out to events anymore? Last few times I've been out clubbin I haven't seen a single TA!!!
Hazel is teh pwnz. When you're 84, and you're still the most effective mayor in North America, you can bash her all you want. The problems we're seeing with Mississauga are the same problems being faced by every major Suburb in the GTA, except our problems are a lot less extreme because we've had a mayor with the balls to tell her constituents "No, we can't afford to put gold plating on our buses and snow plows, we have to fix broken water pipes and repair roads."
She claims she's going to focus on improving transit this term, I hope that means more than throwing money into the pit. Not that I have any fantastic ideas to improve transit, it's hard to do so in a spread-out suburb like Mississauga. If everything were closer together, it'd be all gravy. Good thing all those appartments are going up in the city-center, it'll increase population density which should make it easier to service a larger number of people with an improved transit system.

Another good joint to eat late hours, and a substitute to fly filled dumplings is at Golden China on Confederation and Central Parkway (across Father Michael Goetz High School) service there is better, food tastes better, and no pink vests lol
Can i get some of this action--> Jason @ Central parkway and Ratburn
Edit: anyone mention C & Dubbs for a late night sumo burger if your up that sort of thing, mmmm greasy.
