Maybe i'll run into you there as well. i'm going to this bad boy no matter what. definatly better then the lame ass top-40/hip hop/"house" clubs they got in most of the casino's, even tho the chicks are hot in them, still not worth the shitty music |
Ahh! I missed Bad Boy Bill tonight in Tucson! I didn't notice the first page had been updated...
Anyone go?
Hallofreakinween Closeout
Anyone else get turned away at the door for Hallofreakin'ween in Denver?
I found a brief explanation on the Triad Dragons website saying that the original venue didn't have the parking lot finished in time so it was a last minute thing to hold it at the Palladium. Now, the question I have is this: did they sell walk-in tickets and, if so, they knew it was a smaller venue, why did they sell walk-up tickets beyond what had been pre-paid?
I was very, VERY disappointed by the handling of this - I was turned away at midnight from the show - I can't imagine how many more people showed up and had the same treatment. I know they have stated they will be issuing refunds to those who did not get in with pre-pays but I have no idea how they will do this so I won't hold my breath.
In the end, I will think very little of attending another one of these big shows - Skylab offered redemption in the form of a much better venue and I was hoping they would continue that. "Parking lot not finished" is no excuse to me - for an event this large, get your shit straight from the get-go - especially that many months in advance and with a lineup like that. Usually, I am very forgiving with my reviews of parties but is just ridiculous.
Oh this is a fackin' joke - to get a refund, if you showed up at the event and got your will call ticket, you have to go to Denver to a store, fill out a form, and they will send you a check in the mail.
LAME!
That's it - I am done with Triad Dragons shows. This is pathetic. I have to come from BOULDER to get a damn $50 refund.

Vegoose owned me! Thievery Corp. killed it, Daft Punk was bad ass mostly cause i was trippin' and of course RATM destroyed.

Let's see - for Skylab I got there around 11:30pm and got in, no problems. For Hallofreakinween, I got there at midnight and was turned away.
For that many people, there is no excuse, sorry. And the DJs not showing is yet another reason to be disappointed. It's poor ass planning on their part - especially with false advertisement of both DJs and venue capactity vs. tickets sold.
Bad show all around. I've never seen such a royal eff up.
Eric Prydz sucked. What ever kind of music he was playing was boring so I left 40 minutes into the set. I wish I could get my money back for the night. I'm starting to hate the club.
From where I was standing, the prydz show was exactly what I expected. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I had a few drinks though...so maybe my view of the night was based more on that.
Kris, Blau...I'm interested in hearing a more sober opinion.

). Know anything more about Lee Burridge? I haven't been able to find anything. I'm going to try and catch Sultan on the 12th @ JET too.

wow...more reasons i never go out anymore. the people on this forum could run a better club night than those who try to in denver.
