I'll be there from November 9-13 and I'm wondering the same thing. Where'd you find out about Judge Jules and Lee Burridge? I'd definitely be down for both. I've looked quite a few places but haven't found anything yet. Thanks.

i'm still looking for tickets for Jules. it's not up on empire's website yet. hopefully it will be soon, we'll see. Maybe i'll run into you there as well. i'm going to this bad boy no matter what. definatly better then the lame ass top-40/hip hop/"house" clubs they got in most of the casino's, even tho the chicks are hot in them, still not worth the shitty music

Couldn't agree more; I tried going to a local club here this past week and couldn't wait to get out of there, the music was so bad, haha. Good music > hot girls.

Yeah I'll probably see you there; I wonder if any other TAs will be going? I'm thinking more stuff will be going on - being Veterans' Day weekend in Vegas and all. I imagine more will be posted once November rolls around.

Ahh! I missed Bad Boy Bill tonight in Tucson! I didn't notice the first page had been updated...
Anyone go?

Hallofreakinween Closeout

Anyone else get turned away at the door for Hallofreakin'ween in Denver?

I found a brief explanation on the Triad Dragons website saying that the original venue didn't have the parking lot finished in time so it was a last minute thing to hold it at the Palladium. Now, the question I have is this: did they sell walk-in tickets and, if so, they knew it was a smaller venue, why did they sell walk-up tickets beyond what had been pre-paid?

I was very, VERY disappointed by the handling of this - I was turned away at midnight from the show - I can't imagine how many more people showed up and had the same treatment. I know they have stated they will be issuing refunds to those who did not get in with pre-pays but I have no idea how they will do this so I won't hold my breath.

In the end, I will think very little of attending another one of these big shows - Skylab offered redemption in the form of a much better venue and I was hoping they would continue that. "Parking lot not finished" is no excuse to me - for an event this large, get your shit straight from the get-go - especially that many months in advance and with a lineup like that. Usually, I am very forgiving with my reviews of parties but is just ridiculous.

Posted by kabelicious on Oct-31-2007 17:11:

Oh this is a fackin' joke - to get a refund, if you showed up at the event and got your will call ticket, you have to go to Denver to a store, fill out a form, and they will send you a check in the mail.

LAME!

That's it - I am done with Triad Dragons shows. This is pathetic. I have to come from BOULDER to get a damn $50 refund.

Vegoose owned me! Thievery Corp. killed it, Daft Punk was bad ass mostly cause i was trippin' and of course RATM destroyed.

Come on dude, you know this was going to be a big event like the SKYLAB event!!

Do yourself a favor and actually showup early for once and you wont be turned away at the door. Besides, Sander Kleinenberg, DJ Dan and Kaskade never showed to this event either so it is worth getting your money back.

lol, serious?

a triad dragons event poorly ran? I've never heard of such blasphemy!

Posted by kabelicious on Nov-02-2007 18:30:

Let's see - for Skylab I got there around 11:30pm and got in, no problems. For Hallofreakinween, I got there at midnight and was turned away.

For that many people, there is no excuse, sorry. And the DJs not showing is yet another reason to be disappointed. It's poor ass planning on their part - especially with false advertisement of both DJs and venue capactity vs. tickets sold.

Bad show all around. I've never seen such a royal eff up.

Posted by Beatflux on Nov-04-2007 03:08:

Eric Prydz sucked. What ever kind of music he was playing was boring so I left 40 minutes into the set. I wish I could get my money back for the night. I'm starting to hate the club.

Posted by Bird on Nov-04-2007 03:34:

From where I was standing, the prydz show was exactly what I expected. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I had a few drinks though...so maybe my view of the night was based more on that.

Kris, Blau...I'm interested in hearing a more sober opinion.

So Judge Jules starts @ 1 AM on Nov. 10th (technically 11th I guess ). Know anything more about Lee Burridge? I haven't been able to find anything. I'm going to try and catch Sultan on the 12th @ JET too.

I guess Las Vegas doesn't do willcall/pre-sales or anything? I'm expecting to stand in line a lot.

+1

There were at least 200-300 other people being turned away at the door right along with us, and several cars still in line to get into the parking lot. This can't be blamed on us not showing up at 9pm or however early. Oh well...glad we had a backup plan.

THe denver clubs suck ass. No lighting and production at all. No fan turnout unless its top 5 - anyone below that even Ferry wont get the place packed.

THey once had lasers a long time ago... far far away haha. Those lasers are part of imagination land now.

i cant complain, if it wasn't foe me getting moved to Denver i probably would of never saw 90% of the DJs that i have seen in Denver. (Pittsburgh is not really up on the EDM)

Posted by biznology on Nov-05-2007 16:17:

wow...more reasons i never go out anymore. the people on this forum could run a better club night than those who try to in denver.

its very disgruntling|

Prydz was great - I was glad I venture out that night. I was pleasantly surprised as I hadn't expected much from him - I was not a fan of his essential mix at all. Oh yeah, and the crowd was the best I've ever seen at the Church - no grabbing of my ass and not as many fall over drunks and dumb blondes. People were there for Prydz and it showed.

Craig Richards at 2AM afterwards was also nutters - good dark hard techno. We stayed until around 4am and had a blast.

As for Denver clubs, they are very good for the US for a smaller city. NYC, Miami, LA - yeah, these are giant metropolis cities so of course they can spend more on the clubs, the lighting, the sound. It
s not fair to try to compare Denver to these places as they really aren't in the same league. But from all the smaller citites I've been to, Denver is the best. The sound is good and the DJ lineups they get are amazing for the scene size.
