according to the weekly newsletter...there will be no martin butrich this coming Sunday. If I read correctly, we are getting Olivier saint germain instead...

Martin WAS confirmed right?

Posted by bender mtl on Sep-12-2008 13:39:

Olivier was there from the beggining....Buttrich just cancelled....I think we have 2 really goods headliners anyway there....and If you think Kalkbrenner is the highlight....is because you don't know Tony Rohr...one of the best booking of the summer for me!!! He his releasing on Minus, Plus 8, Drumcode, Cocoon....you know now!!

I never saw his name anywhere in print, but there was a persistent rumor spreading. Guess it would have been a surprise if it worked out ? OSG has been confirmed since day one, though.

Just noticed the OSG now...my bad, sorry!

Martin's name has been there for a whiiiiiile; it's too bad cuz that really looks like the official full lineup, not a rumour, oh well! If he cancelled that's a different story...

Hope the weather holds up for you guys!

Yeah, I just spoke with somebody at Piknic and they confirmed that Buttrich was scheduled but that he had to cancel for personal reasons. Still gonna be an awesome party for sure :-)

Posted by bender mtl on Sep-12-2008 17:28:

Sorry dude...but Tony Rohr is the highlight....very high quality stuff!!

id take buttrich over rohr any day... that guy has his hands in so many places, works on so many projects...

rohr is great, really like him, but buttrich rocks, and i much prefer his style overall

So far the highlights at Piknik for me were all Montrealais

Lol u say it like its an objective fact. Dude, alot of people seem to think that he was indeed the treat of the party...

Who is the highlight of this event? The answer will always be based on opinion, on who you think is the best...anyways, it's supposed to be raining & like 14 degrees. Would be crap if it was cancelled altogether, nevermind Martins cancellation.

Posted by julien2 on Sep-12-2008 22:01:

Martin Buttrich = Loco Dice + Timo Maas + a bunch of others....

so he's pretty much the highlight.

Posted by mazen316 on Sep-12-2008 22:20:

agree, but timo maas is a step above those guys imo

Posted by ~*Stereohead*~ on Sep-12-2008 22:40:

all I have to say is timo maas - subtelite forthcoming on cocoon.

That being said martin produces that whole clicks music so he's gonna be a culmination of loco tim and a few others

Posted by Dj Nacht on Sep-12-2008 22:47:

Martins Studio is the bomb!!!

I didn't know google video had any of the Slices interviews... damn you; there goes the next hour.

On a Piknic note: Cloudy with showers does not look promising
