I bet if one bottle of Hoegaarden would cost $500, Shaw would be all over it

Posted by shaw on Jul-28-2011 17:24:

I hear Dixon hates Hoegaarden.

this & blue moon lately:

I'm not a fan of dark stuff. Recommendations in these same veins welcome, though.

Yeah I'm really not a wheat beer fan.

But, this:

drink this, be happy:

Absolutely rank, imo. I'd rather drink Coors Light. At least the foul taste is barely there.

I love wheat beer. Maybe that's why I don't enjoy IPAs as much? Maybe it's a one or the other thing?

Search back through the thread, I suggested a couple, including the one just posted that you don't like.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-28-2011 17:52:

GUTTER PALATE.

I know a lot of people who like both, but I just prefer beer to not have much of a sweet flavor at all.

Grocery stores or specialty beer stores.
edit: that's because it is.

Is there a Kriek (based on cherries)LA-based buff in the building by any chance ? And by Kriek I mean the real tartish deal not the suggary gew from Lindemans.

Reason why I'm asking cause I was wondering whether there are still some venues out there that have it amoung their portfolio. Visited the Wholefoods in Brentwood (San Vincente Blvd) couple of months ago and everything was like vanished

couple of years ago when I came over with 50 pounds of beer in my suitcase to do some market prospection for my thesis, Wholefoods & Bevmo were like stuffed with Old Gueuze and Kriek from Cantillon, Boon. Such a pity :/

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Jul-28-2011 20:15:

I've been away from LA for a year but when I was out there they still had quite a few Krieks in many of the beer stores (yes, especially whole foods). At my local beer store in Jersey I can still find some (Lindemans and Cantillon, at least). I'll be back out West in
