couple quick pics of my set-up, its in the midst of a relocation to the other side of the room, so i wanna take some others after it's moved.

^ how are your 3500's working out? Even after 100s of threads im still debating between those and the cdj 800 mk2s

yeah me too...

btw! two days ago i went to a local dj store and tried those 3500's. didnt like em at all. pitch slider is small and very uncomfortable imo. a played the 3500 side-by-side with a cdj1000mk3 and damn the mk3 rules!! ))

actually im trying to sell them, they imo dont match up to pioneer at all.

is that fair

I own cdj 800mk2's, so i'm not against pioneer, but is that doesn't realy sound like a fair comparison.

Yeah, but for all intents and purposes, there isn't a HUGE difference. Messin' around with the 1000 can give you a pretty good idea of the way an 800 behaves.

i think the main thing he may have been getting at was the pioneer vs denon cdj's. the cdj1000's and the 800's are similiar in the way they function (ie. no moving platter etc) that the comparasion is reasonable imo. i had a chance to play with the denon 3500 a few nights ago and i honestly didn't like them. the platter was trying to be TOO much like vinyl and it was a overkill imo. the pitch slider is uncomfortable to use. i would definately get the 800's over them.

when i first bought the denon's, a cd got stuck in one of them (it was the first cd i played), so i took it back and they gave me a cdj-1000 for loan til i got mine fixed. so for about 4 months i played on 1 denon and 1 cdj-1000. so i know the diference fairly well, and it's pioneer all the way. when i play out i play on either pio 800's or the pio cmx3000 cd players, and i would rather have either of those pio's over the denons. my main reason is that the denon has shit for pitch control, i dont care what the spec says, they cant hold pitch like pioneer's do, that and there's all sorts of glitches with cue's and such, i'll set a cue and it will only play for 30 seconds after that, then start repeating those 30 seconds, or even just stopping completely, so you have to re-set your cue, not a big problem until it does that when your actually playing your mix out, then you feel like smashing them with a hammer cuz it decided to do it to you at the worst possible time, that and the mp3 mode always fucks up and starts glithcing and not wokring after about 3 tracks played, pretty weak for a $850 deck.

^ those arn't issues that could be fixed by the new update coming (assuming it does)

my humble setup... i HATED buying nice stuff and going for a cheap mixer in the end.. worst idea evar.

im not..... im happy with those 2.. the only thing is new mixer... my mixer is like shit on a stick... worst invention evar, now i sell that and i buy a nice one and im ace.

Yeah looks like he only has room for one more CDJ....but having two CDJs and one TT seems like a good combo. Whenever I get a new table i'm going to buy a cheap TT, just so I can play my old records and maybe some new ones....but yeah quite random...
