i cut down top part of the ikea desk and used some dmf wood for the top

Looks like the same exact setup as me, down to the monitors and desk!

Posted by SgtFoo on Sep-10-2006 17:57:

finally.. I get an update!

It took me a month to make the desk, which is what's been holding me back from posting any pix. The desk is a masterpiece! 7feet wide, 16 inches deep and about 3.5 feet high. Compartments for everything and it's got a sexy burgundy/maroon red finish/stain. It's about 50% plywood, 50% particleboard, heavy as hell, and is built like a tank! Sturdy enough for any gear on top. I now await my 2nd cd player to fill the space.
Note the DNX1500, in between 2 Technics 1210 M5Gs and a DNS1000.

I'm a happy camper!.. er uh.... DJ!

p.s.
Pics came from my new Nokia 6265i 2mp camera phone, but forgot to change the quality settings... meh... w00t!

something I've wondered for a while here...

not picking on anyone in particular but I've noticed that a lot of people here have xone 62 or 92 with only two things hooked up to it. why buy a $$$ mixer and not even use half of the inputs??

just curious that's all

Posted by cbrendan on Sep-11-2006 05:24:

Because here in Australia, when i bought my xone 62, the xone 32 was actually more expensive

Plus it gives you more options in the future. You can take it to a party and plug in your cdjs and someone elses tt's. It looks cooler.

I usually have two 1200s, two CDJ-1000s, my computer, and my EFX-500 hooked up. So that's six inputs used on my 92.

higher end mixers usually offer better sound and more options and dishing out the extra cash for it is worth it. also knowing you ALWAYS have the option of plugging more toys in

Posted by Transfusion on Sep-12-2006 22:45:

Mine is indeed a Gemini umx se, one of the only quality mixers gemini has ever made. My next mixer will be a pioneer djm 800, but that will be a purchase for next year.
