i personally hate it when you can tell a person definitely hasn't showered all day long or more but thinks, "meh, i'm just going to sweat anyways" and then proceeds to run on the treadmill smelling like rotten onions and cheese. there was this fat chick i mistakenly decided to run next to two days ago who fucking reeked like she hadn't cleaned her vagina in a month. that was awful.

don't get me wrong, i rarely shower before working out, because you're just gonna shower again when you get done, but i make sure i'm slightly clean before sweating my nuts off in public.

i just randomly got the urge to go work out and it's been a while. i can tell my arms are going to be completely sore tomorrow.

i started taking a B12 every day and i can tell the difference in my energy level and i think that's why all of a sudden i have the urge to be active. thinking about joining a beginners raquetball league at my gym. it's the only sport i'm pretty good at and i think committing to it will keep me in the zone.

i hope it lasts, i'm so sporatic when it comes to working out.

Well, this is what I mean. If your workout lasted 30 minutes and you did it at home, you'd have plenty of time to socialise properly and you'd get better results from it.

I'm really looking forward to being able to work out at home, now that I can use my bf's weights. Will save me so much time, woooo!

Posted by Gauss on Oct-22-2009 22:51:

Looks like I gained ~16 pounds since summer.

I'll be bulking (I hate that word) until the end of march or even april, after which I'll do some cutting for summer.

And I will once again reference the luxury of working out at home and the mid-exercise fart.

we have a really nice bench press and free weights but they are too big and heavy for arm exercises. i can do leg lunges with them though. after the gym today, i realized that i really don't like the gym i'm a member at. i never did. i don't feel comfortable in there and i don't like the layout (all open). i'm picky about gyms.

anyway so my point is, i've decided to make 100% effort into doing the working out at home thing. we've got great equipment all i need to get is a set of dumbells for women (12 lb) so i can do arm exercises and i'll be set. i saw some at marshall's today and i'm sure they're under $20. i'm also going to buy a pair of rollerblades. perfect time of year for outdoor exercising and there's a nearby park with a lap for jogging or rollerblading and each lap is about a mile. i can deal with that kind of cardio and i'm great on rollerblades.

so wish me luck! and i have total respect for anyone with the discipline to work out reguarly at home so kudos.

No. Your circumstances are different to mine, clearly.

Because I reckon most people here don't know weights in kilograms and can't be assed to convert.

Fight the power man. Make them break their idiotic, outdated and inferior habits.

If only...

You know, the sole reason why I understand their laziness is because those 10-hour clocks from the French Revolution never really caught on. I'm sure dividing a day in 10 hours with 10(0) minutes each is a much more simpler way to organise your time than having it divided by 24 hours, 60 minutes each.

lol, that's good! my first day lifting again i definitely over-strained my muscles, i couldn't stretch my arms out for like four days without being in pain

Posted by Slylee on Oct-23-2009 17:04:

i can't help it!

and yea omega it's not terrible...getting better throughout the day. i like the soreness a little, but not when it's to the point where i can't even walk up stairs or dress myself. lol i've had it that bad before.

Posted by UWM on Oct-23-2009 17:10:

I'm @ +25lbs of mass in the past 18 months. Gym has been treating me well. Maybe stopping taking amphetamines 3 days a week and eating regular balanced meals helped too.

Posted by Slylee on Oct-23-2009 17:18:

lol yea that helps

i'm on a mission to gain 5-7 lbs right now. i know that sounds silly but it makes a huge difference on me. i've been forcing myself to eat 3 meals a day at the proper time. before, i was doing all of my eating after 4 pm (3 meals after 4 lol). now i'm doing it the normal way. breakfast, lunch and dinner. hope it works. got a boat party to go to in a couple weeks and i think i look too skinny in my bikini right now.

Posted by UWM on Oct-23-2009 17:34:

Yeah eating all of your meals after 4 isn't really smart, and I'm surprised you were losing weight doing that rather than gaining it.

p.s What is the name of the pizza place in Ft. Laud w/meatball & ricotta pizza. I think there's one up here too ...

anthony's coal fired pizza. dude i haven't eaten it since that time with u...i forget about it now that i dont live right up the street from it anymore. i think i'll go tonight.

and yea i know most people would double in size if they only ate after 4. i dunno wtf is up with my metabolism.

Good point, actually. If they don't care enough to convert the numbers, they shouldn't be reading my posts at all.

Sorry, but what the hell are you talking about?
Of course, that goes in case she ate both before and after 16:00.
If she ate only after 16:00 (e.g. no breakfast), your point stands.

lol, Why this little myth still floats around is beyond me, but it does not matter what time u eat mate. Calories in vs calories out for the 24 hr period is what does.

the body only digests food for about 4 hours. if you have 3 meals in a short period of time and go to sleep, your body will store more fat.

Posted by Lira on Oct-24-2009 02:01:

Anyone take Endurox R4? I'm drinking it before going to the gym, but I can't feel that much of a difference, performance wise.

Then go ahead and eat a lot of simple carbohydrates before going to sleep and let me know how it works out for you in a month or two.

In other words, what you've said is only partially true. You should eat any time of the day, it's what you it that matters.

Whey and glucose is win-win combination after a workout, but very bad before going to sleep because it raises sugar levels and insulin with it.
Unneeded energy will be stored to fat, especially with high levels of insulin which will also hinder secretion of growth hormone during sleep.

A lot better choice would be casein (found in cottage cheese) for its slow absorption (~5 hours) and some good fats (such as almonds) to slow it down even more.
This is done to keep muscles supplied with protein during night and prevent catabolism.

Those are pretty much the basics.
