Pretty sure youll have better luck than that on sunday though against United. Theyre not playing at their best at the moment..

For whats expected of Newcastle, theres next to nobody whos good enough to be in the team.

I was gona list all the players and say what they have to offer, but whats the point, they have fuck all to offer apart from Given, but he'll end up going to Arsenal or Man Utd, its on the cards.

As a result of Newcastle being a bunch of over paid bastards, i expect them to finish between 14th & 16th next season.

Oh yeah, Fuck Off Souness.

I just wanted to try to understand Shepard and Souness' comments recently? I mean the club have had a really crap season, but i just dont understand their comments....

Can someone explain to me how Newcastle are the second best team in England??

Also, according to Shepard, Newcastle next year will be up there with Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal and challenging for the champions league..

And apparently every European player wants to play at Newcastle and they can attract any player.. so why are they interested in Robbie Keane and Boa Morte?? As for Owen, id be surprised if they manage to attract him as i thought he was after medals..

Personally both Souness and Shepard should go.. they obviously dont know what they are talking about and with all the problems theyve had this year its gonna take a lot to turn the club around

The club shouldnt be based around Shearer but around players such as Dyer and Jenas who could be at the club for a while.

Given looks like hes on his way out as does Bellamy, Aaron Hughes, Kluiverts gone, Robert wants out.. any more?

The only good thing Newcastle have got going for them is the stadium.

Whats your feelings on everything thats gone on this year??

I agree with what your saying about Shepherd and Souness to go, there both cocks.

The comment about building the team around Jenas and Dyer, i disagree, i would be pleased to see Dyer go, hes a bellend.

As for Owen, the reports were �20million, i wouldnt want him playing for Newcastle if he was gona cost that much, �20milion? Maybe �5million.

The club in general is massive, with the likes of the following Newcastle have. With the size support, the money is there to bring the players in.

I dont think Newcastle will do much though next season, there would have to be a major change in the squad, i can see Given possibly going to the likes of Man Utd or Arsenal, he might well want to stay, but i wouldn't rule it out. The defence is utter wank, you need a fair bit of money to sort it out, but to be honest, which class defenders could we get? TBH i wouldnt have paid what we did for Boumsong either.

In midfield, Robert is more than likely not gonna feature next season, and when you look at the midfield thats weak aswell, who is there really in midfield worth keeping, well maybe Bowyer IMO, Jenas had a shit period for a bit now, but i would keep, Dyer would be gone if i was in charge, people bang on about his pace, fair enough hes quick, but he never produces anything. Ive got a feeling Butt could well be gone as well. Also Viana will be returning, the likelyhood though will be that he was sold, most people might well disagree, but i reakon Viana should be given another chance to prove himself, the money we spent on him, well see nothing for him really if hes sold.

Upfront, Kluivert wont be there next season, neither will Bellamy, Ameobi is a bit random at times, Shearer still scores the goals, but you have all the people whinging on that hes too old etc, and thats basically Newcastles forwards, i wouldnt mind to see Chopra given a chance.

If Newcastle are gonna do anything next season, alot of money is going to have to be spent, but i can predict them to buy shite again, Faye was not really want me want, we want better players IMO.

We'll see what happens though, but i dont expect to see much of a change next season, i hope im wrong though.

2 years ago we finished 3rd in the league and nearly reached the quarter finals of the Champions League.

12 months ago Newcastle battled Liverpool all season for 4th spot, Liverpool nicked the spot right at the end. Liverpool took a chance on a foreign manager who has proven to be an excellent acquisition and has really taken them forward after they looked very stale. Newcastle refused to sack their manager, then changed their mind 4 games into the season - just after the transfer window closed - and appointed the only available manager, a psycho called Graeme Souness who was a couple of weeks away from the sack at Blackburn! Since then we have reached our lowest ever finish in the Premier League and the manager has publically fallen out with two of our best players, one of whom is now on loan and one of whom ran onto the pitch on the last game of the season and took all his clothes off.

Our chairman's response? Keep the manager on for another year because he is "the man for the job"! Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable.

Liverpool's champions league victory is symbolic of how far Newcastle have fallen. Souness has to be sacked NOW. Souness has a track record of falling out with players (Dunn, Yorke, Bellamy), buying average players (Amoruso, Dickov, Faye), and buying overpriced players from his old friends at Rangers (Ferguson 7.5M, Boumsong 8M). His squads are always ravaged by injury because of his old-fashioned training methods (when Newcastle played Crystal Palace, it was a completely different 11 to the team that faced Palace only a few months earlier!) and he consistently puts players out of their favoured position.

I disagree that all we have is our stadium. There are still only 3 quality teams in the league and if Everton can get 4th there is no reason that we can't achieve the same - with a good manager. We have more spending power than the rest of the league outside Chelsea/Arsenal/Man Utd/Liverpool and 14th is quite simply ridiculous after finishing 4th, 3rd and 5th in 3 seasons under Bobby Robson. Some people still demand patience with Souness but I think given another season he could really ruin us, wheras under a good manager this is a club with massive potential.

Freddy Shepherd is the problem. Souness thinks he is a good manager and tries his best but he doesn't seem to realise that however good a player he was he is absolutely fucking clueless at management. Everybody else knows this, but Shepherd is dragging this club under.

This season has been incredibly frustrating. It is quite shocking to think that Souness is still in charge of Newcastle United, it really is a kick in the teeth to everybody that supports this football club. There is no reason to keep him, consistently shit managers don't suddenly become good!

As in the case of another former Barcelona big gun Patrick Kluivert, there would be no transfer fee for Figo but the player would pick up over �4m in wages per season.

And just as Kluivert did, Figo would get a one-year contract with the option on either side of another two.

However, unlike the the Dutchman, who was a massive disappointment in his 12 months at St James' Park, United are confident that Figo would stay on for at least another season.

The Portuguese, who joined Real Madrid for a mouth-watering �37m from Barcelona exactly five years ago, still has a year of his contract to run in the Spanish capital.

He is currently in Angola with fellow Real Madrid colleague Ronaldo on a charity mission to highlight the sad plight of land-mine victims.

Shepherd and his deputy Douglas Hall have never been afraid to bring in some of the biggest names in football to St James' Park and Figo fits into that category.

In the week that they made their first signing in the �6.5m Scott Parker, United were encouraged by the fact that only 3,000 fans have not renewed their season tickets which is not much higher than the annual wastage.

And there will be more good news if United see off Everton for Inter Milan midfielder Emre which they are confident they will do.

I think Figo would be a great signing, he's still a damn sight better than most of the wingers in the Premiership and the only reason he got dropped from the Real team last season was because he fell out with manager Luxemburgo who then decided to play Ronaldo, Owen and Raul up front instead. For the first part of last season he was one of Real Madrid's best players and was helping to carry their team. He may not be the player he used to be but he's still top class, his free-kicks,crosses and corners are far more consistent than Robert's and he can play on the left or the right wing. He'd also help us to lure better players to the club this summer.

He is a different person to Kluivert. When we signed Kluivert he had been injured for 12 months and Barca wanted him off the wage bill. I wouldn't exactly call him a failure at Newcastle but he was injured too often and his hunger wasn't really there. Figo wants to leave Real Madrid to get first-team football while Kluivert seemed content on the bench collecting his wages and making up injuries.

On a one-year contract with the option to extend I think he's worth the risk.

Bramble fractured his elbow in training today. He could be out for three months.

Meanwhile Ameobi will be unavailable for the start of the season as he recovers from a hip operation. Parker won't play in the Intertoto games to give him more time to recover from his broken foot.
