There must be a limited amount of good baseball karma or something in New York. When the Mets play well, the Yankees stink, and vice versa (as we're probably seeing right now).

Last year's third round pick for the Mets (74th overall and ranked 3rd in the Mets farm system by Baseball America) Gabriel Hernandez threw a no-hitter today. Granted, it's low-class A ball... but any time a no-hitter is pitched, it's a big deal. The kid is only 19 years old and was DOPE last year and is doing crazy good again this year...

77.2 IP, 47 Hits, 27 BBs, 3 HRs, 81 Ks, 0.95 WHIP, 2.32 ERA

Fabulous...

Box Score

Gaby Hernandez

Devil Rays own Sean Henn
and they improve their record against the Yanks for the season, 5-2
Almost a good comeback though

Looks like the mets are going to be sellars at the deadline , maybe sooner. Glavine is the worst Mets free-agent signing in history! All the money they spemt and they still have a worse record than last year.

True but I think Juiceambi is the worst free agent signing EVER!!

And the Yankees are even more guilty of spending and not winning. But it does apply to the Mets too, I agree with that.

Going to the game tonight with Vernon. I have a feeling Randy is gonna have another dominant performance.

My fav player Matsui is on a tear again since he got hurt. You can't blame Sean Henn, he's just really inexperienced and young. Walking that many guys shows that he is too nervous. Wang is just very calm and poised. I really, really like him!! Trading him for Zito is absolutely pointless. Zito is what he is and actually has worse stats than Wang. Plus, Wang has more room for growth. He throws 95 with lots of downward movement and has plenty of guts. Finally the Yanks might actually develop some talent (him and Cano).

I wouldn't give up on Henn though either!

I think the Mets will buy and sell. Or at least try to...

omfgbbq, yankees losing to devil rays... is it possible to get swept by the current worst team in baseball, twice in one season?

Posted by Shamez214 on Jun-22-2005 02:19:

And the Mets win! Nice! Finally... Adn winning after a sub-par start by Benson is great.

I suppose you're right. I remember back in May or something, the Mets scored 7 runs. I was so excited. So I can only imagine 13... Plus, A-Rod homered... I'm having a tremendous offensive week in my fantasy league already. My pitching's sucked though... besides Garland.

Posted by Member of X on Jun-22-2005 03:18:

Yeah no shit, me and Vernon just came back from the game. The first 6-7 innings were the most excruciating in my history. 5 homers in one inning. 13 runs in the 8th inning. My voice hurts. Lance Carter is so money, what a pitcher. The Yanks made a good acquisition there.

Ridiculous comeback by the Yanks that other night, but the D-Rays went on to win the next two games to continue owning the Yankees, winning 3 out of 4 for the second time in a row.

In Subway Series II, it's been funny seeing most of the cheers in Yankee Stadium being for the Mets

Posted by trunks1022 on Jun-26-2005 00:29:

was at yankee stadium for both last night's and this afternoon's games... let's go mets.

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Jun-26-2005 02:51:

Kris Benson against Randy Johnson tomorrow.Wonder which Randy Johnson shows up..the one that was unhittable or the one that got run by the d-rays.Hopefully Benson keeps up his quality start streak he has had lately

Posted by Member of X on Jun-26-2005 05:36:

Yankees suck, can't we move on?

Randy Johnson supposedly has a hurt back....

Posted by Drew1127 on Jun-27-2005 03:36:
