Well i guess to each their own. But the ball had gone to a Barca player, and so close to the goal it would have made sense to call advantage.

IMHO great game, terrible refereeing. Arsenal coach should have known better, Barca is not Villa Real, you can only hold them back for so long. Should have listened to Henry who was righteously pissed off. Still, congrats to Barca!

My men from north london were strong today, absolutely heroic effort considering 72 minutes + of being down to 10 men. Barca were the better on the day, actually in the last 15 minutes.

Cheers to the defenders, a big wank off to the ref for calling fuck all against the catalan side. one of their mid-fielders had as i saw the "ref" count, 3 fouls against him, and harsh ones at that, before even being booked.

I will never hang my head in shame, for we will be back next year, stronger, faster, and in charge of the situation.

Thank you arsenal, for a magical run that no one even thought you'd be making

Great post! (I, for one, will be back to supporting Chelsea hehe)

Happy for Barca, they deserve it after a great season at home and out. Great way to say goodbye to Larsson, amazing contributions by him. Great game by both sides but respect goes to Arsenal to holding off for so long! I didn't think they were going to be broken but you can't hold Barca forever.. they are not Villareal. Had it been 11-11, this may have been different.

The ref ..meh.. I feel like he robbed me of a better game. Bad calls against/for barcelona and Arsenal.

+1

And what a game this was... UNREAL!

Posted by raveed on May-17-2006 21:17:

what a game!!! i agree, the ref was wrong to have sent of lehmann and should have played advantage and let the goal stay.

Lol it was amazing how Eto'o and the rest of the barca squad were chatting up Henry who was noticeablly upset at wenger's not bringing on added support for him (reyes should have started). Eto'o was like il see you next year at the nou camp.

'twas a good game. Arsenal played their best, and i give them a lot of credit for that - especially when their goalkeeper was taken off after only 18 minutes!!

And I really enjoyed Campell's sexy header!

So the first half was Arsenal's strongest time...then the second half went to Barca. meh. maybe (hopefully) next year it will be a different story

rubbish!!!! next year is going to be all about united

haha poor you! yeah, I have lost a LOT of bets in my lifetime, and have had to do many things because of it!

i would have love to see arsenal pull it off but i knew it was a matter of time before barca cracks their defence.

about the call, despite the fact that i am arsenal fan, it was a good call. lehnman is a last man back and when this kind of foul happens in soccer it doesn't matter about the advantage, the goalie will get automatically a red card. arsenal kind of got lucky that the ref didn't count a goal and gave lehnman a red card at the same time! b/c that would have been game, set, match a long time ago.

arsenal deserved this trophy more than barca though, sad to see them go down like that, they are a better team.

p.s. did you guys notice how the ribbons on the trophy were blue and red before the match??? as if they knew barca was taking it

but they had them before the match. when the players were coming out to the field, i noticed they already had the blue and red ribbons on. i'm sure that's not what they meant but it looked as if they knew barca was gonna win!

translation:

i made a mistake i should have thought about the decision more and would have made the right call, that is count the goal and a yellow card to lehnman. - referee about handling a red card

arsenal deserved it dammit.

if i were to make a suggestion, id say stay away from any bets regarding arsenal next season, henry's going to leave and the team is pretty much destined for failure.

actually, at the press conference today. he dropped hints of staying.

" We have come along way this year, but WE must push harder next season, with the new stadium in place"

oh good...there's still hope then

true but with the british media, you need to take everything with a grain of salt cuz they full of shit most of the time.

In any case, he spoke harsh words about ronaldinho and eto'o at the post game interview as well so at the moment, yea it does look like hes staying.
