Oh man, what a great couple of days! This just arrived:

http://www.discogs.com/release/483085

Definitely one of my favorite songs from all of Oakie's '99 Essential Mixes

Indeed. Got the vinyl myself as well, got it long ago along with the "Tales From The Engine Room" album. All the tracks on the album are great but it's Face 1004 which shines out with the Marc Mitchell magic.

Nice! So it was indeed pressed for the Tales From The Engine Room release. Wish I'd been into Marillion at the time, I definitely would've picked up that set!

Yeah i bought the album in midsummer '98 and was amazed to get the vinyl for free with the purchase. I wonder why was the vinyl never given an official release..

I'm surprised as well, given how DJs started playing the song live. I suppose only the Eagle Records ppl know for sure... I found the info stating that 1500 copies were pressed, but it sure is damn hard to find for record with 1500 copies floating around!

Then again, I think it's popped up three different times on eBay w/in the past year. Not very often, but often enough I suppose. I figure most Marillion collectors keep this one pretty close.

Hmm. I think the number of 1500 copies might not be quite true... according to Marc Mitchell himself anyway, he has said closer to only 40 copies have actually ever been pressed. If he's correct or not, i can't confirm.

hmm...THIS record seems to be highly sought after..

Yeah... 40 seems pretty low, especially if they were giving the record away as a promotion for that Tales cd. Someone from Marillion *might* know how many were pressed, but Eagle Records would be the ppl in the know. I tried contacting them a few years ago about this 12", never heard back. If someone does get chat w/ them, please let me know what they say!

No, I'm definitely not complaining about the records I own, just that I'd like that one as well

it seems pretty wanted ...

Posted by keithos27 on Jan-23-2007 14:53:

do you have any discogs linkage for that 1?

Slightly off subject - but it seems people in the know are watching this thread.

I recently got sent a copy of the filterheadz remix and dub of The Roc Project - Never (Illustrious records) by mistake. So now I have two copies of this record. Was going to send it back to the shop for a refund but then noticed this on Discogs: (click the link)

http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=137523

Is it worth this much or is this guy taking the piss????

Thanks

Nick

cant really tell. others guys in this thread (waxhead, keithos, daan, etc) have more feeling for these things.
is this filterheadz remix different from the filterheadz remix on the other 'Never' release (the one featured on the release which also has the tiesto remix)?

No that record isn't worth 25 pounds. This is a perfect example of the high prices on Discogs. That record is maybe 10 pounds worth, at max. But, there're always crazy people who would pay 25 pounds for it. But I will never do that with a records like that. Take a look also at eBay, maybe you'll find the records there. It gives a better indication of the price.
