armin played 'no good' too!
was all good, until after kai opened with born slippy, went into hard stuff :/ but then back to the good stuff for the last half hour or so, playing his two classics at the end - too many times and trance and acid
wheeeeee

I came, I saw, I danced and I dodgem'd. And I lost my phone and lip gloss. And just a few marbles.

Awesome night.

It was my first time going... so I'll give my review...

Quite easy to get into the venue and no hitches (except them not allowing me to take in my sugar cubes > Places were easy to find, and lots of different groups of people who were all pretty cool...

The best thing was the little Two Tribes Amish Village selling all the goodies... got myself some cool overpriced shit

Also only saw one guy vomit while walking, two girls snort some sht, and get asked for pills only once.

But overall the atmosphere outside was just so comfortable, it was quite something.

Onto the DJ's..........

Strangis played a pretty good set uptil some of the vocal tracks he played at the end... respect.

Schulz I was actually quite disappointed in... we made a pact to listen to most of his set and we couldn't feel it... I don't know what the genre he played was, but it felt like tech-prog (electro-prog?) So we went down and tried to dance... but not feeling much energy there. Oh yeah, first couple of songs I think he didn't beat match that well.

Armin was absolutely fantastic, all night. First track was Zocalo, and it was beautiful, then ripped out some tech shit... played a couple of old school song remixes (Eurythmics remix and... ?), Communication (Part 4?), I think Incognition... he repeated a couple of tracks Markus played which was my only fault in him. But his last 45mins... man, that was absolutely amazing... kept the energy flowing well good... Beatmatched perfectly from the word go...

Kai Tracid, played a lot of familiar songs, can't recall the names though... left after about 30 mins... was knackered after Armin... and his set wasn't up to Armin... so time for Maccas................... good shit

PVD next

awesome night!! defd heard the wigga wigga remix soupy! steve went all gooey next to me when we heard it and ran off to the side of the stage hahaha...

highlights... mounting the parthenon pillers and pole dancing on them in the vip area, holding signs up @ strangest, having a conversation withough even opening my mouth, free powerade & the cd hungry seagulls in the front row!! haha

some pics up soon.. absolute corkers of some if you!!

Posted by Philby on Feb-26-2006 08:13:

wow that was pretty good! took about 20 mins for me to get in so i missed mr millson but steve rocked it as usual which was good despite our requests he neither shuffled nor played silence

i thought markus schultz was REALLY good, i was completely suprised, thought he would be playing a lot more proggy and deeper melodic kinda stuff but he banged it out totally, i died when he played 'find' i thought he played the new armin one 'whos watching' or whatever its called but anyways i loved it

and armin w00t
i wasn't sure what to expect as i haven't listened to him for ages but i really liked a lot of the tunes he played, i wasn't that impressed at the start it sounded electro-ey or something to me...but yeah then he played some really good stuff, there was one tune around the middle of his set that was huge, sounded very much like a m.i.k.e. production, loved the m.o.r.p.h. dub mix of shivers, despite what the people around me at the time thought of it there were a few big build up sooper uplifters in there but mostly i thought it was good, especially the last hour or so after 'simon patterson - f16'. in fact if anyone knows the tune that was played right after 'f16' please tell me

unfortunately i was pretty wrecked with a headache and was pretty tired so didn't get into it as much as i would have liked but it was good enough

i only stayed in the vodafone arena cause i was too scared to leave and not be able to come back, after mr teapot dissapeared for about 40 mins or something to go to the toilet. would have been nice to see kasey taylor and max graham but ah well. saw loki who told me james lavelle was spectacularly bad hahaha.

other highlights included scaring away gerry with my muzza dancing, getting trashed and pulling out the matrix moves, meeting eros and trance nutter, i think i may have met a couple more people but i dont remember sorry including one girl as we were walking in who said "you must be from TA cause you are talking about a guy with a map and compass" lol . Getting my stuff signed AND NOT LOSING IT ON THE TRAIN was a higlight too w00t yes the backpack made it home safe and sound.

after i left the arena i was sitting inside on chairs half asleep and some girl walks past saying 'look at that gurner lets steal his wallet and phone' and stuff luckily there was a nice couple next to me who kept an eye out

overall i think it was an enjoyable experience but being wrecked meant i couldn't get into it as much as i liked, and in the whole 8 hours or so i was there i basically saw 3 djs hehehe. but still good

w00t photos

rofl, poor guy

There was one guy with earplugs (I'm guessing from ta...) who was getting pretty into it giving what appeared to be a random girl a massage.... haha

Then another guy who looked like he had almost OD' slumped over the fence at the front right next to us, was v. freaky!

sunrise3500 what camera is that? That's pretty damn good quality for indoor night shots.

I had a good time but could have been better if I wasn't wrecked, even though i was psyched about the event I didn't last for long cause I was tired after 1am. But it was still good just kicking back in the seats and watching the dj's do their thing. Top night! I hope another event that can match the same style of atmosphere and lineup will come again this year cause I CAN NOT wait to next year.

canon powershot a610... pretty much mainly used manual mode mostly - apart from when I was specifically taking pics of people (used flash then).. ISO400 (hence why the pics are a lil bit noisy, but could easily be fixed with some post processing in photoshop/paint shop) so I could take pics without using flash (otherwise you lose all the arena lighting and atmosphere there), yet get enough light in with fast shutter speed

Posted by sunrise3500 on Feb-26-2006 08:47:

photochop

I made a quick photochop.. and well I dont know you so well, and what your sense of humour is like.. but hopefully u can lol
