Thanks for the pms guys, but the tickets have been sold.
I really wanted to go this year, but musically the organization took a step back and not forward to me.Offering us more of the same old stuff with new acts that don't interest me.After Resolution and this i'm pretty sure the next massive in september will be equally as shitty.
At least i profited

hey man, i BOUGHT tickets to Bal en Blanc hoping they would come through.Resolution was an inferior lineup to anyone who has listened to this music and partied for years. They have failed me 2 times, i have no confidence they will come through.I bet more Armin,Dj Dan,insert over rated dj that plays some of the same shit you here at 1234.Massives should be a mix of the mainstream and filthy.Where have the filthy gone.At least last year had Fanciulli.

Resolution:

Filthy = Danny Torrence, Victor Calderone, Franco Fabi
Commercial = Max Graham, Tiesto, Second Sun.

Bal en blanc:

Filthy: Stephane Grondin, Sander Van Doorn, Peter Rauhofer
Commercial: Armin Van Buuren, Deep Dish

I think it balances out IMO.

Posted by all-nite-freak on Feb-22-2007 20:44:

No offence to you Marcus, but accepting what you call filthy as music is like sharing work out tips with a paraplegic.

I'm going to WMC and Costa Rica ...fuck bal en blanc

same bookings for what 5 years+ now?

Posted by Spin Laden on Feb-22-2007 21:07:

Resolution had filthier music than BeB, imo. It was because of Max Graham and Victor Calderone though, mostly.

I hope the promoters get a decent dj for the last Tech and House room slots left, but you have to wonder if the promoters are losing touch with the underground roots or if the big draws have priced themselves out of these parties, or both.

I'll give BeB/GK a chance and see who they are gonna get to complete those rooms with. They have an opportunity now to make this better than the 'meh' status that it deserves right now .... but at least they didn't go out and blow much of the budget on one dj (Tiesto at Res), so there may still be a chance here.

I agree there has to be SOMETHING more in the house room

Posted by all-nite-freak on Feb-22-2007 21:17:

A good bal en blanc is one where you find yourself changing rooms frequently over the night. The house room is basically the same as in forever and the "tech" room is all trance.Trance is gay.

At this point, scrapping all the guest dj's, just having locals spin and slashing the ticket price in half would lead to a party 1000000 better than this abomination of cruddy beats.

Posted by Spin Laden on Feb-22-2007 21:20:

Well, it was almost embarrassing to have my trance friends in the house room last year when David Fetta and Deep Douche were on. Then when they were over at AVBs set, Grondin and Ruhofer were destroying the place.. wasted opportunity to convert the tranceheads

+1

It's almost like going back to the 'rave' era is what's needed. Now how do we get the dirty rippers and trollops to go to those things? That would be the only thing missing

Posted by all-nite-freak on Feb-22-2007 21:35:

you would be suprised at how many of the dirty rippers and trollops used to wear the parachute pants back in the day and say plur.Every Bal en Blanc i go to i always bump in to people i knew from the mid 90's who have totally changed. For them this event is a way to pay tribute to their past.

Posted by Marcus007 on Feb-22-2007 21:35:

I missed an hour of armin's set just to listen to grondin

Posted by Marcolissimo on Feb-23-2007 01:32:

So where do I get tickets? I wanna take my gf to a big show and I'm hoping BeB is not as a big a fuck-up as Resolution (wasn't the best experience of my life).
Do I buy them off the BeB website or ticketmaster?

Posted by Spin Laden on Feb-23-2007 01:55:

before you could just go to ticketmaster on Kent and Queen and buy them right there, not sure now. BeB should be much better than that Resolution thing.

To those who think the line-up sucks:

Bal is about the music AND the atmosphere.

Even if the line-up sucked (which it doesn't) it's still a hell of a party. Regardless of who the dj's are, I would still go because in the end, it's all about the experience, the sights, and partying till the wee hours with your friends.

Only in Montreal can we enjoy such a great scene. Enjoy it while you can!

Posted by all-nite-freak on Feb-23-2007 04:46:

true, but i have been to 8 bal en blanc's.
The lineups have been almost the same or in decline the last few years.
Sonner or later you get fed up...at least i made a good profit selling my tickets.

True, i agree, and that is exactly what BeB is banking on... that people wont care about the music...

Some of us still care to listen to good tunes

youre talking a little too fast on a couple of occasions

not only the two just mentionned, but in general also

maybe you should introduce yourself properly to this community instead or throwing sometimes comments like you know the scene by heart and / or promote events that you seem to be working with

im louis nice to meet you

offer is gonna play i guess a recovery party at unity... since bal en blanc booked guetta at parking last year and they seem to confront them this year with events on sundays

we'll see what happens

Posted by gazelle on Feb-23-2007 18:14:

As you can read on the Bal en Blanc Website, Offer Nassim is confirmed for the main event

Posted by Marcus007 on Feb-23-2007 19:09:

offer nissim is weak imo
