Stopped by Bleu for about an hour just to see if I could run into any TAs and didn't see anyone recognizable. I really wanted to rob someone and give them that genuine Detroit welcome, but by a former Bronx stick up kid . The easiest to rob would have been iammesol , RJT and Clovis (scrawny bitch crew ), Bas would've probably ran and left them stranded.

Not going to Bleu until tonight, and even then only for an hour to catch Mathias set.

Justin Long was the set of the day for me yesterday, but Voorn and the Kage/Reference were also epic win at the festival.

The VOLATL party was also pretty epic - Kate Simko was absolutely un-fucking-real. Hakita and Tony Kasper also played great, and Dirtybird played some tunes I'd really like to ID.

Looking like rain/storms tonight though - hopefully clear by Old Miami.

Edit: I am an idiot. The rain forecast was for Milwaukee.

Enjoy your stay, wish I could make it out there tonight but I have some boring family BBQ gathering that I was strong armed to go to. If anyone who's there plans on sightseeing around the city, please warn them to stay away from the east side especially the evergreen area and 5 to 8 mile road if they value their lives. I highly recommend the Greektown area which is about a 3 block stretch. Great places to eat and visit and an all around great community, one of the oldest historical areas in Detroit. Stay away from the Greektown Casino, MGM Grand Detroit is where it's at.

Yeah - this is my 4th DEMF, and we're staying in Greektown (Atheneum), so we've got a pretty good idea where to be, and where not to be.



We've been living on Greek food all weekend.

Greektown is pretty much the only place in Detroit I'd stay.

set for me had to be daniel bell's dbx revival set

got to see a preview of it at the bunker a few weeks ago, but yesterday was awesome. i got stuck up in front which wasn't my favorite but at least there was more room there then in the middle

alex under also was pretty great

found myself hanging out a lot on the main stage seating with the new york crew


tonight, temp tattoos first. (was at oslo for a bit last night because it was free and I have no fucking clue how that room will be habitable after midnight)

radio skool, possibly revolution to check out m furstenberg for a bit.

anyone go to resolute last night? never made it. still getting texts from people there lol

Amtrak hates it when bears shit on their carpet, attack bubbles, Konrad Black, farting, Heartthrob, our cab driver almost killed us this morning, the cube was smaller than a shoebox, Adam Beyer's mix of Marionette, the train within us all stops conveniently at my house and is not mere metaphor, "did I mention that I farted on Jenny?", Kate Simko ruined myself and herself (lol, nitrous), Aretha Franklin, Aretha Franklin, Aretha Franklin, funk.

More when my brain works again. One of the best weekends of my life.

Oh, and though Inconspicuous is indeed not black, the notion that he was (or at least could be) entertained me for a while on Saturday - or Sunday. I forget.

God I just want to keep raving forever.

I received the following texts from Rob today while I was at work and they had me thoroughly lol'ing out loud.

"70's Funk records in the backyard of a 'Nam biker bar at 10 am on Memorial Day FTGDMFW!"

"NO BEARS ON THE TRAIN! THEY WILL POOP ON THE CARPET!"

"Also, ATTACK BUBBLES!"

"And I'm pretty sure the beverage service fellow on this train is either on drugs or a paedophile. Probably both."

I am so fucking going next year. Who's with me?

And our cab driver this morning was more cracked out than anyone at any party we went to.

Also, Jake - I totally farted on Jenny at least twice. She told me she's afraid of going home to her boyfriend because my foul stench just won't quit. Hope I've made you proud.

Oh yeah, the Amtrak guy was also the one who walked up to what was maybe a five year old girl with a stuffed bear and said "OHHHHhhhh no - we don't allow bears on the train. THEY POOP ALL OVER THE CARPET!"



My mind just feels ruined in the most beautiful kind of way I can imagine right now. God bless the lords of DEMF - I'll write a proper review tomorrow, but of those I've been to, this was easily my favorite.

Easily.

Fucking Old Miami... sweet mother of god. I have never been to a better party.
