ESPN says we're getting Lars Eller et Ian Schultz for Halak

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jun-17-2010 19:35:

so far it looks like a very shitty deal.

sigh.

i get they were going to lose a goalie....that being said are they really that nuts to hand this team over to price...AGAIN?

they get the best playoff result in the last 17 years, all because of halak...and they give the team to the young drunk and ship halak away for a bunch of question marks....ones from denmark.

unless we are going after patrick marleau...i am not happy.

fucking ridiculous

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jun-17-2010 19:39:

did i mention they added new classifications to thew seating at bell center to gouge the fans more? not to mention that there is a rumour that beer is going up to 13.50$.

fucking sad.

ticket prices rize 24%

Posted by princesultan on Jun-17-2010 19:41:

it's a very weak deal.

Wow. Wooww.... How retarded can Montreal be.. Watch these 2 players suck balls. What a dumb Decision, i'm speechless.

15$ for a beer (tip included OBVIOUSLY)... geezuz christ.

Posted by Marcus007 on Jun-17-2010 21:22:

fucking san jose needed a goalie bad this year... nabokovs contract is up and we COULD HAVE easily traded Halak for Marleau (plus maybe something else on our side to sweeten the deal... cough cough Sergei)

BUT NOOOOOOO Mr. Bob Gainey wannabe gives us two mediocore players... WEAK...

Posted by Marcus007 on Jun-17-2010 21:39:

after calming down a little... maybe this is better... both these players are bigger and grittier... something that we were lacking... how many goalies that go on a stretch like halak did actually become superstar goalies? not many...

the team also becomes a little younger... something to compliment our aged 1st line of stars...

Posted by Marcus007 on Jun-17-2010 21:41:

if they give us marleau ill be the happiest guy EVEERRRRR

i don't tip the hot dog/beer people...they make 22$ an hour.

another reason is that tips are only for people with nice breasts that don't smell like relish.

i'd rather have him than pleks...we don't really have the cash for him, but i say release all free agents and the 3rd and 4th line use ahl talent.

pleks is not worth the 5 million he will command....i love him, but at least marleau is a good 2 way player.

Posted by Marcus007 on Jun-17-2010 22:09:

ya agree with that

would take marleau over plek any fucking day

Am I the only one thinking this will be good for the Habs in long run?

I was actually expecting this trade. They say: Sell when it's hot and the habs did. They needed to get rid of one goalie, they sold the one who was supposed to be a #2 goalie for the price of a #1. We would have gotten nothing for Price. I also have a feeling that we are missing a draft pick in the deal. Unless they think that the Danish prospect can play NHL next year. He will cost us peanuts. Good for the salary cap.

Let's wait and see Gauthier's next moves!

i agree for the "wait until the next move" part, but i am more curious for the "wait to see for how much st louis signs him for to see what we would have gotten via compensation for restricted free agents.".

If he signs for over 4 million we would get way more than this trade.

if carey price fucks up next year (like this year), cedric dejardins is not enough to replace halak.

also...i can't wait until next year...because when we don't resign markov it is going to be entertaining. (calling it now)

Posted by Passskal on Jun-17-2010 22:34:

this move also means that they will most probably sign Pleky...this guy is not good for playoffs, too soft! That I don't like.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jun-17-2010 22:39:

i am willing to bet anything that the habs most likely got a better offer than this at the trade deadline which makes it a lose. (for the fans, not the team that raked in an extra 20 mill pure profit then raised ticket prices by over 20% for next year.)

Posted by jester on Jun-17-2010 22:57:

what bs.... Price should have left.

Posted by Romchik22 on Jun-17-2010 22:57:

Hope that pleks gets re-signed. He's a more complete player then marlleau just because plekanec excell's on d and pk. As for the trade... Price better play good hockey, if not he'll hear the "halak" chant quite quickly

do you actually watch games that do not involve the habs? I have center ice, and watched quite a few sharks games this year....to say pleks is a more complete player than marleau is like comparing filet mignon to skirt steak.

Posted by Marcus007 on Jun-17-2010 23:20:

marleau has everything man

like jay said hes a two way player

pleks is slightly above average at best, and sucks in playoffs... and hes a wimpy lil euro...

marleau > pleks
