It's possible that one of the bullet wounds to his face was in his left eye, in which case you'd be looking at the inside of his skull.
The nightvision pic looks the most real to me. Right down to the backwards US flag that is only found that way on military uniforms to symbolize the flag flowing backwards as the military charges forward into battle. I'm also a little curious as to what's blurred out in the bottom right corner.
The left eye may also look like that due to some post-mortem skull fucking.

One thing is really bugging me.
I really think the celebrations are way over the top.
Whilst I shed no tears that he is deceased, I cannot help but feel that a war crimes trial was the way to go. It's what the West prides itself on; jury of your peers, due process, right to a fair trial etc. which is why Guantanamo also has sticking points for me, also.
Maybe America just didn't want to bring up its involvement with him all over again.
Heck, we even had trials for Nazi war criminals...
