+ 2 points for the crazy swan

saw hot fuzz last night, thought it was really good, only thing was dragged on a bit at the end. 4.5 / 5. best movie I've seen in a long while.
wouldn't say it's exclusively a guy flick though, the violence is amusing more than anything

NARP

and I reckon it was even better than shaun of the dead! which was good too

^ I guess I like zombies more than the 'good cop/bad cop' story

watched Eyes Wide Shut with my girl last night.

i had watched it abotu a year or two ago, and hadnt lasted the full movie without falling asleep, but i got through it this time and found it thoroughly enjoyable and very intense.

Some great scenes in the movie, and whilst some would argue that it is just smut on the big screen, i found the movie to be really thought provoking.

what are others thoughts on this movie?

i thought it was an interesting commentary on the relationship between marriage, fidelity, wealth & power.

(well from what i remember anyway, not seen it since it first came out)

Saw Man of The Year last night... save it for DVD and a rainy day unless you've got a thing for Robin Williams humour. Was a little more political than I expected but only enough so that it's actually interesting. Also stars a dying Christopher Walken, an evil Jeff Goldblum and very scatty Laura Linney.

Smokin' Aces.

I sat down to watch this expecting heaps, by looking at shorts and hearing ppl saying how good it was.

Its passable. I was expecting an in-depth story, but it was pretty mediocre, and covered up by a large number of characters with semi-different stories.

It had a couple of good scenes in it, but like most other action movies, is made to appeal to the most primative of minds.....

Mildy enjoyable.

Upcoming...

Transformers seriously doesnt excite me now. Theyve gone too far away from the original concept. Overhyped at this point.

Bumblebee isnt even a VW anymore, apparently because VW didnt want to be associated with the movie.

Im interested to see Hugo Weavings voice as Megatron though (they couldnt get the original guy, but theyve got Peter Cullen ie. The original Optimus Prime). I thought Weaving was excellent as Agent Smith in The Matrix.

Anyways, check out the new trailer here.

Pirates 3 and Rush Hour 3 (view trailer) Im looking forward to.

Please stop bagging the Transformers movie. You will depress me.

LOL, I was depressed when they first announced a live action feature!

they did get the original voice for megatron, frank welker, but i think it didn't suit the style of the movie or some shit like that. he is in the video game version though.

Saw this on the plane to Atlanta. Audrey Tautou is gorgeous and the Paul Van Dyk lookalike was a bit dull but I think the chemistry was good between the two. Love the French dialogue, it's so sexy! Definitely worth a watch. Lots of laughs.

I watched Black Snake Moan the other day.

Christina Ricci and Samuel L Jackson.

It was ok I guess, I didn't know the story before i saw it, just knew there was a bit of blues, so thats why i watched it.

Coulda been a bit better, but it was pretty good overall, and not just cos you see Riccis boobs (again).

(Ive had a crush on her since she was Wednesday ahahahah mmmmmm darkness)

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Jun-19-2007 00:56:

black snake moan?

was it ricci's fault?

Posted by gumble on Jun-19-2007 01:05:

ahah, they learn from each other. its one of those stories.

and the moaning, well you'll just ahve to watch it

Saw Pirates 3 last night because Oceans 13 was sold out... seriously way too long for a pirate movie, almost three hours wtf. They could've easily cut an hour of the crap out.

Not too bad, if you liked the other two then it's worth a watch but maybe on dvd.

Leads on for a 4th but haven't heard they are making one.

Posted by eRRaTiK on Jun-21-2007 14:02:

Music and Lyrics.

So cheesy I love it!

Awesome soundtrack.

Posted by Fledz on Jun-21-2007 14:43:

I saw Oceans 13 last saturday. Great story this time. I liked the previous two but people complained that the 2nd one wasn't that good.

Well this one is definitely an improvement. Pacino slots well into evil role too.
