quote:

Was more than interresting for me to see those posts, specially the one from acetate212x (man! that's a long name ). Well first I have to say I'm really aware that achieving the unanimity is quite impossible. But we are speaking on the ultimate project of an artist life and to carry out this work I relied only on me and John Digweed's feedbacks. It would be more easy for me to do 10 Apollo Vibes with maybe a taste of "electro" to be in the hype but this attitude would be for me like an insult to the respect I feel for the artist work in general.
If I have to define what I'm doing I would only say I'm doing music. And if I look back I can say music was my main activity in all my life. Working in progressive music and be a part of Bedrock history is certainly the main moment of my life. But I think that most exciting about progressive music is that it's a general word which includes various styles with common topics, as the research of "not cheesey" melodies and emotions and / or environments mental and hypnotic. This is of course my vision of the progressive. Which is not far I think from the progressive rock vision of the 70's.
To get the chance of signing an album with Bedrock was for me the opportunity to mix all my musical influences and to include those influences in a project which has no boundaries or restrictions. My purpose was also to make this album mainstream but at the same time you can listen to it on different levels because of the diversity and the abundance of sounds.
So the question is "is it progressive", I think it's a musical album and a progressive album. But this is of course a personal opinion. I still believe that to stay honest in its step, an artist has first to please himself by hoping after that some people will share this vision. Because after all this is what music is all about, it's a sharing of feelings.
Now if for some people the dvd which was made for the promotion of this album sounds a little "pretentious", first I will say this DVD was made for the press as a way to have a visual presentation (maybe more cool to watch on a laptop than reading a press presentation), then I would be a lier if I was hiding my ambition. And to still continue to be honest I'm not interrested by acting too low profile in my career even if I think the work has still to be done 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. But without spokesmen the good styles won't be defended against the "shit evils 80's sounding 8 bits easy drums shits" that we are listening too often in the radio or clubs for the moment.
But thanks a lot guys for sharing your thoughts about "Zero Gold". It's an honour for me and it's also logical for me to see and to respect different point of views as anyway diversity is the key to move in the right direction.
Pole Folder - Music is an emotionnal commitment -

quote:

Well like I said in the first post, I can't achieve unanimity . But I still think that music is not enough. Specially when you are doing a narrative one. It's always difficult for me to express my feelings in english as french is my first language. It's even more boring for me as my french is, without being arrogant, perfect. But I'm taking the risk every day to express myself in the language of Edgar Allan Poe, as I think every ways of communication have to be used around the music. But don't focus on this if you trust more the music and I really hope you'll find what you are expecting in Zero Gold when you'll listen to it.

if you looked carefully on the video you can see the address of my studio, so feel free to knock at the door when you're in Brussel and we can go for a beer (belgian one of course )
