I realize that, but here is what you accomplished: you met up with your buddies, and had a good time. It's not like I would have done anything productive in that time anyway. The way I see it, the hour I decided not to meet up with them and enjoy myself is another hour I would have killed on Ta or in front of TV. Yeah, if weed gets in the way of you actually doing stuff then it's a problem, but if you got time to kill after work, then I don't see how it's a waste of time.

Its a waste of time because, you are not realy gettin anything positive out of it. You could have chilled with you friends exactly the same way without the weed. You bring up the senario of smoking at night after work, which is great. But then you are a lazy fuck in the morning.

The point is that anything that you do on weed, can be done without weed! Thats why its a waste of time... because you just dont need it!

Once you smoke for long enough, you will realise. Im not against weed, I am against potheadness. Weed is not a nessecity when it comes to chilling with you friends.

+1. if you need to smoke a joint to hang out with friends then thats a problem. i know im gonna get a reply saying we do shit regularly as well. I just dont find it as appealing as I used to. it just makes me not want to do anything.

I disagree. It's different. I wouldn't have gotten anything positive out of that time anyway, and I see getting blazed as a positive thing. I like that feeling. Secondly, your friends will never call you up just to chill for no reason. Weed is a very good excuse to meet up:

Scenario 1:
- "Hey, let's meet up."
- "and do what?"
- "nothing, I guess"
- "Hmm.. nah.. I'm too lazy/tired/gay excuse"

Scenario 2:
- "Hey, let's meet up"
- "and do what?"
- I dunno, bun a ting, then do whatever after"
- Hmm yeah sure, but ot for too long"
- "No problem with me"

I'm speaking from personal experience only (but I expect it to be the same for other people), but that's the way it goes for me and my friends at least.

And when you're sober the conversations aren't as funny, and tend to die quickly anyhow. Everything feels so forced.

Lastly, who is talking about potheadedness? Totally different issue.

I don't know about that. I used to be a heavy user for years, and probably some of the most creative and productive times and projects I've completed with my friends were while high.

Admitedly, it does make you lazy and complacent, but it always makes for fantastic conversations. I think that, as with any drug, weed and the experiences resultant thereof largely depend on the person and the social dynamic of their group of friends.

I thought this thread was about Disco Bizkits...not the "OOOHH WEEEEEEEE"

I've had a sober 2007 so far (not including P.O.T.)

yummy mushrooms, I love the drug but only do it about 3-4 times a year. Did it last weekend, love laughing at nothing uncontrollably. Went to Guvy about 4 years ago on it though, now thats a trip.

i havent done many different drugs..

but other then weed, Mdma / Shrooms actualy lead to some spiritual enlightenment in me.

i used to be the same way with my friends. And guess wat, now that i dont smoke i dont chill with those people that much. It kinda makes you realise who your real friends are. Smoking up should not be the sole purpose of a relationship with someone.
