WOOT! Heading down to Gretzky's now. Let's see how chaotic it will be It's a game that happens once every four year so it should be worth it GO CANADA GO!!!

P.S. It would totally suck if U.S. wins. I will have to unleash my wrath at Yankeebaby

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Feb-28-2010 16:40:

This is ridiculous. IT should be how many gold medals are won. clearly it means nothing if you come in second place or third place. Why not give medals to 4th and 5th place as well?

being a winner means getting first and thus we are definitely winning in these Olympics. IF i remember correctly we used to rank the medal tables by gold until the US had a hissy fit and in 2008 decided to show the medal table tally by total medals. Obviously this was due to china attaining the most golds in the summer Olympics.

So in essence we are the true winners of this Olympics and if we win in hockey today, we will be the all time kings of the winter Olympics.

i don't care if the US finishes first in overall medals. 30 million vs 300 million.

mission has been accomplished.

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Feb-28-2010 16:43:

sorry that may have been a bit harsh.. obviously these athletes work hard and deserve the distinguished ranking and by all means this does come into play when certain countries attain the same amount of golds. We should then look onto silver and if we must even bronze.

I guess it all depends on how you look at it.

They ended up shipping much of the Canada stuff from all the other stores across the country to Van because of the demand, and Vancouver opened its HBC Olymp8c Store 24/7 to deal with the insatiable demand. That jacket's a collector's item and I hope it stays that way considering I paid $100

i agree in that you want to limit the supply i.e. Canada Goose jackets, to some extent so it doesn't get played out, but again they finally have a product winner here they know people will want

lol tho they'll become even more of a collector's item when HBC goes outta business

Silver is the first loser.

i believe the IOC ranks medal standings by total golds won no?

besides, when it comes to total medals, I believe that Norway is #1 in terms of their per capita total

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Feb-28-2010 17:01:

IOC doesn't have a standard ranking system but i believe they used to show by golds

lol. I'm thinking of adding the flag to the upper sleeve like the athletes have and removing the HBC patch (since HBC is now American-owned anyway)

*waits for Yankeeboobie's post/dissertation in response to that*

Apparently HBC underestimated the demand and it was too late for the manufacturer to produce more clothes, hense the shipping out west. There were a lot of things about these games that were underestimated.

I'll take both the 3rd place medal count and the first for golds, both very impressive.

10.000$ for a ticket? wtf?

lol you dont need a dissertation from me, I have been very supportive of Canada doing well. However I always wonder why Canadians are always "How are we doing versus USA!?" haha There is so much discussion about the USA, I would wonder if this is a competition between ONLY two countries as opposed to the whole world You guys are very insecure and sensitive about America for some reason. Its just silly the amount of commentary on one country! Get over it, you crybabies!!

Some great articles by Elvis Stojko on figure skating at these olympics and the rediculous judging in the men's competition:

Russia should have won gold in Men's figureskating.

Posted by yankeeBaby on Feb-28-2010 22:21:

eesh! If Slovakia or any other good team played the US or Canada today, they would have rolled over both of us! despite the intense vibe, this hasnt been a great game for hockey! USA is REALLY doing poorly!

Posted by darouge11 on Feb-28-2010 22:31:

cant believe they just tied!!
