Finally my new piece of furniture :

Ooooo that's nice. Did you leave the gap to the right for a CD deck or something?

I've got a thing about symmetry - so it kinda makes me uneas to look at it that way - but my bizzareness aside - that's REALLY a nice piece of wood and screws.

Looks lap-dancing club-tastic with all those mirrors

Posted by Dj Preztige on Nov-10-2006 23:42:

lol.ha i never even though of that,,,but now since you got it to my atention, yeah your right i guess.

I like those mirrors! I saw something very similar at Ikea, but they were alot more rectangular. They look pretty sweet next to the setup...maybe I'll have to get some.

I've been working on plans for an addition for my desk, seeing as how there's too much computer related equipment that actually needs to be on my desk. Let me know what you think. (Done completely in Autodesk Inventor)

The cutout is designed for 2 cdj-200s and a djm-400 (with room for drop-in 1200s to the left and right).

That looks its going to be GREAT! Question though, is the area for the DJM400 and 200's going to have for expansion? The 400 is only 2 channels, you are going to have to get a new mixer if you get techs.

Nice but I don't think sun exposure like that...right by a window, is the best thing for CDJs. You better keep the windows closed, in case it rains. Rain and moisture is pretty bad for CDJs. I keep mine by my bed, pretty far away from windows or the sun. Even with the windows closed, they will still have more moisture produced by the sun, vs. away from it, or possibly with blinds.

the sun produces moisture?

is the material (wood im assuming) going to be painted, or will you put veneer over it?

i would suggest veneer, it'll look cleaner and sharper, give the edges more definition. just my 2 cents

Again, desirable setup but surely you must really kill your lower back leaning over to get at that mixer?

Jarv... Mr ergonomics...

i think on the second one you quoted, leaning down to get at the cd players and decks would be hard, mixer is just a matter of stretching arms...

on the first with the urei, you'd be suprised how easy tts are to manipulate like that if you know how to pitch bend.

Really Clean Stand!

Posted by Jarvmeister on Nov-12-2006 23:48:

Mr Ergonomics?!?! Hahaha. Amused!

I remember having a table too low for my turntables, I didn't realise how rubbish it was until a mate came round and raised the decks about a foot and a half. Makes a massive difference to the way you play.

I like to have everything right in front of me, although if I do have to reach out for it I suppose it would be best if it was at a higher level, ie mid torso.....

I've decided to go against a "cutout." Instead I think I'm going to use a flat table, with raised edges, and a box area in the back to hide wires.

It'll be made out of wood that will then be painted.

actually its pefect height for me...just looks a bit lower than it is due to me holding the digi-camera a little higher

It'll be made out of wood that will then be painted. The holes for the turntables are directly underneath.

Thanks!

You can go the way did to hide the wires:
