If you're building something bespoke, why not go flush like I did? It's a lot easier to hide the wires that way (and it's also somewhere new to hide pornogr.... ah, I've said too much.... :-)

The biggest flat area. Equipment will be a few inches short of elbow height for me (I'm 6'2").

Already decided against recessed equipment, as I would not be able to upgrade equipment without modifying my table.

Good point. I'm lucky in that the only new thing I'll get now is a DJM800 to replace my 600. But it also depends on what you're using to make it. As I used cheap stuff for mine (conti-board) it means that if I ever DO get a bigger mixer, I can just buy a new piece, get out the jigsaw, and cut a new template out for it.

For the sake of the £20 for a new piece of board, I think it's worth it. But, I get the feeling you're not gonna make this out of cheap stuff!

i didnt intentionally buy gear of one brand. i bought it because its great gear. the m.304 is a great mixer. the t.120c are the best tt's on the market. for SSL i don't need Ortofons so I bought great-looking great-performance Trackmasters, and the heart of the system is SSL - because SSL is rock-solid and way > than FS. i think some ppl just dont take Stanton's new line of gear seriously sadly..

Yea I agree especially their new cd decks the 314s are pretty solid for $299 a piece. The st-150 decks offer more than technics do right now and are just as solid if not better.

I sold these to dj monk and then bought stantons. I like these way better but there different somewhat. Stantons feel weird at first and it's hard to get the feel...I just like the torque on the motor with reverse. I guess if you really wanted to you could get a broken off chop stick put it in the thread spindle over the turntable spindle and turn the record and headshells upside down and let the weights off lol.

Added a turntable, Starting torque >4.8kg/cm

The WOW and flutter specs are the only ones that really make a difference

Jep, I want to change the mixer, but I'll keep this setup for more than a year (I don't shit money )

Next mixer will be a Nuo5,Xone92 or a DJM800. Probably the DJM800 so I can hook my cdplayers up in digital mode
