I checked to see if anything was on ESPN or the Yanks official site and nothing. Usually their official site is always pretty up to date. For what reason, I didn't hear he was hurt? I know that Douchebag and Pavano are coming off the DL soon.

Radio?

at least you know who won't be pitching

Posted by Member of X on Jul-14-2005 20:57:

Oh joy, that's wonderful. Especially seeing that Tim Redding and his 9.10 ERA is replacing him. So we get our best pitcher hurt and we get Douchebag and Pavano (who both suck some serious a$$) back from the DL. Nice trade.....

Schilling not looking good in his first appearance off the DL, and in relief - first gives up double to Sheffield, then HR to A-Rod

I was at sunday's game - 07/10 sitting in the RF bleachers got there nice and early since it was a beautiful day out. I saw Wang throwing in the pen he didn't show any signs of injury and he looked like he was throwing with decent velocity. I'd like to see the DL Report or what speculation is culminating over this injury of his. I'd say he has been one of the key arms in this mid season hurling slump that the Yankees have been in since Clemens and Pet left.

Edit - A-Rod in the cluth last night which is semi-unusual for someone of his statue. Yes the numbers are right, but I've seen him fail in the clutch more times than he's pulled through. I'm quite surprised of his resiliency and determination especially since living in the shadows of his SS complement and the rest of the big bats in the line up. Although having a-rod in the 4 banger position does spark my interest as the heavy hitters fall deeper into the line up. I like the fact that A-Rod as a contact hitter with power to all fields but not a home run threat gives the 1,2,3 batters "breathing" room.

From a pitching stand point against a yankee lineup - hitters 1-4 are not going to "scare" me except sheff. This leaves great opportunity for a contact hitter like A-Rod. And A-Rod will probably get more decent pitches since he's backed by godzilla. I like Giambi close behind Matsui even though it's lefty lefty and then have Sierra DHing behind him. Then Posada and you're at the bottom of the line up. Jeter and Cano holding up the front as long as Cano starts swinging a decent bat.

Looks like Wang is gonna be out for the year according to all the reports. I'm hoping they're wrong!! He is easily the Yanks best pitcher so far just because he's been the most consistent and always keep them in the game. It's a HUUUUUUUGE blow. Yanks now have Brown, Pavano, Wright, and Wang on the DL. That doesn't bode well for future success when those places are filled by the likes of Tim Redding and Darell May, two guys who were complete schmucks in the national league.

Yanks will have to win tonight 10-8 I think....

remember any pitcher on the big red machine??

Well... hanging your hat on Wang, a rookie pitcher who was never an ultra top prospect, wasn't the greatest thing anyway. I'm assuming he would've had a nice stretch of 4-5 games where he got ROCKED...

Posted by Shamez214 on Jul-15-2005 14:24:

Man... last night was the best Mets win of the year. it tops the Marlon Anderson Inside-the-park-homerun game because this one was against the Braves.

Benson was DOPE last night. So dope. Wright had two HRs. Floyd made a ridiculous catch. Wright made a ridiculous catch. And Piazza. Guess the dude's still got it? Because that was a MONSTER shot to RF. Dude hasn't done that since 99/00. Weeeeeee! Now... it's up to... Glavine to keep this going.

If you read about him that would be far from what was expected from him. I've seen the guy pitch 10+ games and he has some of the best poise and demeanor of any young pitcher I've seen in a long time. He has great movement on his fastball and always buckles down when it matters. He kept the Yanks in every single game he pitched. You can't say that about any other pitcher on the team including the Big Bust (so far).

He throws 94 mph too. You can tell how important he was by the Yankees comments.

So in other words, Tim Redding and Darrell May are better choices? Or Steve Chacon or Al Leiter who they are rumored to be trying to get soon? Hmmm...

So the Yankees lineup is the big red machine? Yanks don't even lead the majors in runs, Hr's, avg or anything.

And they had capable starters, not two guys dumped by another team because they sucked so bad. Guys like Wang who weren't dominant but kept their team in the game until the bats exploded.
